This is really cool. I used to sell the 420 Stainless machetes (more like really big knives) and thought they felt great in the hand and were made quite well. Couldn't see paying that much $ for them, but these new carbon ones should be well worth. IMO, I hope the production ones are made with 1095 heat treated to 56-58.
A co worker I worked with who knew nothing about knives, but thought she did, told me they were "pieces of chinese crap" when we first got them in, but after handling them, seeing the grind, and noticed the "made in El Salvador" on the blades, I believed them to be quite good. I figure they use machetes a lot in El Salvador, so I'd think they'd know how to build em right. Keep us posted on release dates Joe!
WOW!!!!!!!!!I like the whole damn collection! I am really finding that the big money knives are just not worth it for me..I am to damn ruff on stuffI was just sharpening my Cold Steel Seax machete the other day..1/8" carbon steel made in China for about 15$..man its a tough mother..I will have to do a revue. Thanks for bringing these to our attention..I had no idea. When are they due to hit the market?? I am going to start selling a few off for these right away. That classic bushcrafter looks awesome..and the GOlok is sweet!!!! I am blown away by these..THANKS JOEZILLA!!!
Compared to Condor the Cold Steel machetes hide their faces in shame. No comparison.
Update:
The golok will have a psuedo v-grind to make it cut better on the draw cut. There is also talking of adding another knife onto the line.
