Vital Gadgets & Gear To Have On You At All Times

You're right, I just purchased a pocket police officer. If you could just PM me a journal of your daily habits and activities this would be a lot easier. That way I can live just like you do. Anyways, I'm not trying to argue with you. You win.

I'm a felon as of 2006. I have 4 options... run, fight, call friends with guns, or call police.

Always best to be mindful of what we don't know before acting on assumption. I've seen more than a few guys try to talk down to guys with pretty crazy resumes.

Not impressed or worried in the least probably an airsoft commando.

I wasn't trying to imply that you may be in danger, or give a land mine warning. It would just be a bummer to wind up ragging on someone who got shot in the service of his country, etc. Most of us don't know each other's history. That's all.

At the end of the day, I'm obviously not your boss. I'm just some guy on the Internet. Do what you will.

View attachment 512747 I make up key caddies to suit the occaision. I don't think you mentioned a pen. I have a compass on my iphone. An 8X20 monocular doesn't take up much space and doubles as a loupe. I wonder if a picture of my driver's license on my iphone would do in a pinch?

I do collect pens, but I wasn't thinking of it in re to survival....however, I suppose I could need a pen to write an SOS message on some TP at a gas station :-) Thoughts? <smile> Funny, but seriously... you never know these days! So you have a good point. And I like the drivers license idea... BUT with all the open censorship of our data and hacking I don't know that 'that' would be a good idea (though they already have it...) But, if your phone was hacked, the hackers would know everything about you. So I guess that one is a toss up. Thank you for sharing my friend..I appreciate it. Hope you are having a great weekend! :)

I always carry a flashlight: looking in the toolbox, under the car seat a dark closet; a Bic lighter: cutting braided line, melting the end of paracord, burning stuff in the yard;and a knife: tape, rope, etc. Other than that, the list grows and changes depending on where I am headed.

On second thought, my phone came in handy a few weeks ago..as would have a pen too in this situation..I man was in a parking lot nearby threatening to kill a woman and strangulating her. I walked near to the car, but far enough away to be safe...and I asked if they were okay. At the same time, I put the license number in my phone and called the police. I SHOULD have had a flashlight too to blind him if needed, but my instincts were kicking in and it did not cross my mind. Yet, a pen would have been handy at the same time, a long with a small moleskine or rite the rain notebook (I have several of both...) So extra good point on the pen... Especially if it is a tactical pen..never know when you might need that... hopefully, I wouldn't get close enough to a jerk like that to have to try to use it..

I see even mentioning a firearm brings out the worst in people! Even in a forum! I'm sorry I even commented now! Yall wonder why they...try and take our guns... Cuz people who got them act like a$$e$! Be cool and respectful of those that can't or choose not to carry!

Don't fret, Otter. King George died a long time ago, and who cares about Parliament anymore? :)

This is my EDC:

-Gun with spare mag
-TK-4 tourniquet. I'm working on a better EDC trauma kit, but at least this is something. I have a lunch box size kit in my car.
-Light and secondary light
-Multitool and a knife. (These always change.)
-Spare batteries for primary light and cell phone.
-Two bobby pins in my wallet. These have come in handy more than once, for myself and friends. They weigh nothing. Use honor code;).
-Cash. It is a goods/ services and barter/ trade tool. Pretty basic, and very useful.
