Scott, it looks great! I like the tapered handle, looks nice and secure. Also it's a nice aid in muscle memory or low light situations. The wrought iron and W2 is a great combo. Thanks for posting this WIP, it's been a pleasure to see this beauty take shape. And I did learn from it!
This one sounds like a beast!! I will be eagerly awaiting this one to see how it turns out. Personally, I really like the idea of a laminated head with a tactical flare. Who says you can't look good slaying some Al Qaeda or Taliban. Outstanding work, thanks for sharing!

So the next one will be a hybrid of these methods. I like the look of the two piece construction. So I will forge weld the head to a tapered tang for a morticed wood handle. And the forge welded head will be backed by rivets. A good forge weld is just as strong as a single piece....
