WALKING DEAD Season 4, Sunday 10-13-13

The governor of the TV series is definitely NOT the same governor of the comic series, not even close. Kind of a let down.

I agree as well on Rick, again he is a much better person in the comic, he even lost a hand and still moved forward.

I hope something happens soon, its getting pretty slow. Got to wait till Monday or Tuesday to see tonight's show.

A similar effect happened with the new Battlestar Galactica, it quickly became a drama, little action and lots of soap opera mess. The first and second season were amazing, then it fell flat for me.

The comics are great.im finding the show is a let down after reading them.. Its still one of my favorite shows though

The only problem with equipment that runs on fuel is that after it sits without running for long periods of time, you can't get 'em to move so easy, brakes seize, fluids leak, batteries die so the longer time goes on the more cars and trucks become unstartable, eventually they become nothing more than rusting markers on the roadside, (unless you're a mechanic with took and access to parts...

Yep I know all of this TO WELL!!!:D I work at a Power Plant and I am a Certified Diesel Mechanic along with a few other mechanical abilities/trades.

I think it's time for a proper dirt nap for the Gov!!! Kill'em off and write that sucker OUT...

Do you guys really want the show to be just like the comic?

I mean think about it ... Why would anyone watch the show? They could just buy the comic, read, enjoy, then be done with it all and move on. Yes, the Governor in the comic is a fat, ugly, long-haired, biker-looking bad-ass who lost his left eye. Honestly, I prefer the one from the show. His good-looks and charm mask his violent insanity so much so that he's far more dangerous than the one in the comic. It's just a re-imagining of different characters. Happens in animated shows based on comics all the time.

Anyone else thinking that the spin off they are talking about is going to be the Governor and crew.

The Governor seems oddly nice last night! I was just waiting for him to kill the family and steel the little girl or just do something really terrible! What's with the nice guy and why doesn't he like spaghetti O's?! weird...

Yeah I know! I was really expecting that to happen. But it may happen next week, remember he showed up at the prison alone, unless the rest were hanging back somewhere. I actually really enjoyed the episode, was a nice change, and it showed a different side to a character who has done evil things.

Anyone ever read Rise of the Governor? Lots of tie ins with that from last night's episode. Reminds me of someone saying how there were nods to the game by Telltale, also. I didn't catch them, other than the mentioning of Macon, GA.

Anyway, he introduced himself as Brian Heriot to the family last night instead of Philip. I wonder where this is going. If anyone's ever read that novel and is watching, I'd be interested in hearing your takes. (I also missed the first five minutes, so... I dunno.)

Brian Heriot was a name of a dead man he saw on the side of a barn. Rick is the only one who really knows who he is.

Interesting episode. I was waiting for the governor to just snap and kill everyone. Not what I was expecting. I really want to see Daryl react to Rick banishing Carol. Prior to last night I thought I couldnt care less about the governor but now I am intrigued as to what his next move is going to be.

Oh, the things that happen in the first five minutes :p

If you're curious why I brought that up, Brian is a character closely related to Philip in that novel. Not really a spoiler--you'll find that out a few pages into reading it if you do.

why doesn't he like spaghetti O's?!

The Governor was on the Talking Dead last night and he answered that one. He did not want to be indebted to anyone because he was not planning to stay.

I really was not looking forward to the governor coming back. Last night was actually more enjoyable than watching the group in the prison. I even said to my wife later that both of our Sunday night shows were better than they had been lately (Walking Dead and the Mentalist).
Actually interested to see what happens to the Governor in future episodes now.

I hate to say I agree, it was much more interesting than the prison.

Agree with you again Jeff!!! The wife and I talked about all that went on and last night show really was better than the prison. I am impressed at the Gov's new position on things but when I saw the little girl I told Amie she was going to wiggle into his heart and change him. If not change him she would bring out the man before. Maybe the Gov can learn how to temper his emotions and control himself now, who knows. This episode was pretty good.
