Walking Dead Season 5 (HEADS UP: Possible Episode Spoilers May Be Posted Within)

I am ready for Daryl to figure something out and start fixing it his way. He almost took care of one problem when Glenn punched the Senators kid. Have a feeling he should have.

I understand being prepared but I do think I would have showered.

Agree that Carol seems to be playing this pretty cool. Perhaps after Terminus she realized how stupid the rest of the group can be and she knows she has to be in a position to bail them out again.

If you had spied on the group for as long as they had it seems like you would take Daryls crossbow and Michonnes sword first. They are two of the more deadly people in the group and they dont need a gun.

Maybe they are letting Daryl get used to his surroundings. I wouldn't have taken his crossbow after spying on them, because he's just as deadly with a gun and with his knife (Team Gemini, where did you go?). Plus he's good in a fist fight, which isn't the case with some of the others. Michonne on the other hand isn't quite as acclamated to guns and ranged weaponry, but anything with a blade or a tip and I feel like she'd be deadly with it no matter what.

Even without the zombie apocalypse, this place just isn't Daryls natural environment. To fancy, especially after seeing the house he grew up in. When he slung the guts out of that possum on the nicely painted front porch it kind of clicked for me that he's probably feeling like a fish out of water.

The two guys pick the weapons for Glen, etc....Perhaps with the firing pins removed/shaved down/altered in some way to make the weapons inoperable? Easy money...;-)

Watching that last episode was another of the evenings at home where I apparently became "too interactive" with the TV. I was "firmly pointing out" the construction of the wall was wrong, that no way in the world would I be downing tools at the front gate, that something is "off" with the place and that "this won’t end well" ..... LOL

I must admit that seeing their reaction to a hot shower after all that time and grime ;) struck a chord with me...except Darryl of course...but I expected no less...!!!!

Carol made me laugh !!!! She played them like a banjo!! Her character is probably the one I have grown to like most, the polar change in her across the seasons probably highlights what the show underpins, in times of real crisis how and what becomes "the new normal" and that some will change/adapt/live and others won’t.

Knowing nothing of the comics, either the inhabitants of this new compound are extremely naive/sheltered to what is happening in the world outside the tin walls, or they have their own game to be played out.

Totally agree with you! Carol and Daryl are my wife and my favorite characters. She has really evolved from the meek, abused housewife of the first season! She and Daryl are both badasses!!! I haven't read any of the "comics" either, so don't have a clue about Alexandria. Not sure how much it would matter anyway, as the TV series deviates quite a bit from the graphic novels from what I've heard hear and other places.;)

I've been making it a point to rewatch episodes to see if I missed anything the first time and this time I noticed that the comic that Carl found in the upstairs room was titled "Wolf Fight" which reminded me of the "wolves not fear" which was painted on the wall ay Noahs old neighborhood and the dismembered walkers with W's carved in their foreheads. Turns out that it belonged to the girl that jumped the fence. Where did she go when she ditched Carl? Has me wondering if she was sent in by another group to infiltrate or maybe that this group are the "Wolves" that ransacked Noahs neighborhood.
Also, Rick making mention of taking the place over probably wasn't the best idea since they have already showed that they have long range listening devices. And Dianna claimed that she was very good at reading people. I wonder if she's seeing thru carols act. Just thinking out loud.

I laughed so hard at that part. I didn't grow up quite like Daryl but I grew up definitely not in a rich part of town. I turned to my wife and said "Daryl's country as hell"

lol

I dunno if I'm being too pessimistic but I'm feeling that the story arc for their present stay in Alexandria is going to be kinda boring.

The show is a drama...but with zombies. Take the zombies out of the equation and the show gets stagnant, kind of like some of the drawn out episodes in season 2 on the farm.

I happen to disagree. I think there will be too much going on for you to miss the fact that zombies aren't there. After all. Rick wants to take over :D. How stagnant and boring could THAT be?

The town needs military units/training of its inhabitants in order to repel any possible attack by marauding groups that might come along. Fire Teams/Squads/ QRF's, etc. They are too vulnerable to outside attack...;-)

I would ask then, what has kept them safe this far then? Looks like they're on guard at least.
