Walking Dead Time!

I was glad to see that Merle had his moment of redemption. I have to admit I was screaming at the TV when he just started shooting. Really should have waited for a clean shot at the governor. He basically threw his life away to take out a few nobody fightrs when he easily could have taken out an unsuspecting governor.
If the governor does go out this season I do hope he takes Andrea with him. And for the love of all that is holy, someone find a way to kill Laurie for good so we don't have to see her anymore.
Garth

I am going to go on record with my pick, I think it will be Glen. I am watching the marathon right now. Jody is finally getting to see the first episodes.

I am curious to see if the Daryl character changes after this episode. Seems like he was one of the few characters that had not really suffered a personal lose yet. Other than maybe Sophia, he seemed to remain fairly numb to the other deaths in the group.

I think both Michonne and Darryl will have to evaluate their positions after what happened that episode. Michonne because they were going to turn her in, will have to consider if she trusts them anymore or will go her own way. Darryl on the other hand will have to decide if he will stick around and be part of their "family", as up to this point he was always saying that he just cares about his brother.

I'm sad to say that I like this season less for the fact that they place so much emphasis on the struggle between people, instead of the show being people against zombies.

I feel the opposite. The action and drama between the characters is what I enjoy the most about the show. Episode after episode of zombie slaughter would eventually get boring.

As far as Merle dying...definitely sad to see him go. Unfortunately, and I hate to say this, but I have to place his death on the shoulders of Rick. I cannot believe that he decided to give Michonne to the Governor. Although he eventually changed his mind, it was too late. Merle was simply following Rick's orders to get Michonne to the Governor by noon and it ultimately led to his death. Of course it didn't help that Merle downed a bottle of whiskey, but it was Rick's orders that put him out there to begin with. Piss poor decision by Rick and it kinda changed the way I feel him about him now. Just my two cents.

I disagree, I think Merle would have done the same thing whether or not Rick had even told him about giving up Michonne.

I agree -- Merle's death can't be placed on Rick. Merle went off on his own, and ultimately made his own decision for personal redemption and heroism.

It was a great episode about which I have mixed feelings -- because it's leading to the season finale and another UNBEARABLE hiatus, during which we have to wait for the show's return!

Maybe Milton will take him out. It would be cool if he did, took over leadership of the town and had the Zombie head mounted somewhere.

Kill the governor?... Should be blondie, how though is the question. I say this because I think Milton will help her escape.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say one of the insignificant Woodbury residents. Who's been contentious with the Governor's decisions lately? The mother of the teenager who was drafted? The old guy with arthritis? Tyreese?... he'll probably be significant later on.

I think the Governor got bit in the warehouse and will turn. If Andrea is strapped in the chair, she could be zombie snack.

I think emphasis on the struggles within as well as between human beings in the midst of the apocalypse is the real point of TWD. Much like Anne Rice once admitted publicly that her vampire novels were more about people and human interaction than about vampires.

In TWD, people are the real danger. Let's face it, after a while, the zombies get kind of boring just waddling about in slow motion like a bunch of street drunks. We need a new strain of the virus that speeds them up a little -- like some 28 Days Later zombies. That's what I'm talking about! Give Michonne and Darryl a real challenge!

yeah, this is nothing new to the zombie genre--even Geroge Romero reportedly saw zombies as a metaphor for consumerism, I think, and Dawn of the Dead was pretty bland and consistent until the biker gang barged into the mall. admittedly a tv series about different ways to kill zombies would bomb pretty quickly. save that for the Dead Rising video games.

the way it is now, the tv series is a real work of art. you really learn about and appreciate all the thought that goes into the show when you hear what the cast and crew have to say when invited to Talking Dead.

the 28 zombies were definitely more about zombie scare in my opinion. not much going on people-wise, or at least it always seemed like a side story. I feel like the point of those movies were that these zombies are frickin' scary, the end :p

Agreed on all points, Sir!

Nonetheless, TWD and Justified are my current favorite shows (the only ones I watch), and Michonne and Darryl are my favorite characters. I'd probably lose some interest if anything happened to either.
