My question is how do you know its not in transit? After reading all the posts and comments about packages sometimes taking up to 4-5 weeks, why didn't you contact paypal and put a hold on the funds? Wouldn't that be the right thing to have done?

Why you not hearing me? I said, that in Russia maybe it taken 4-5 weeks. I live in Ukraine - it's not a Russia and absolutely other postal service! In my country I never seen any US packet after 21 days waiting - that's why after this term I started Paypal thread.
Now I'm receiving from you partial refund, not full, for $400 Paypal still make investigation. But - If this packet will show up - I will let you know and pay your money. I'm normal guy and don't want stolen things.

Paypal will not protect sellers if you are using first class. Andrey (Savic) your funds have been returned to you leaving me a negative balance of $1000. Sellers please protect yourselves and don't repeat my mistake. Money Orders

You mean, that if it would be money order, and your error like this - you'd never refund money to buyer, isn't it? It's your protection? And you think it's normal? It's just like usual robbery from your side this "protection". I think it doesn't meter what type of transaction you use (Money order or Paypal) if both sides keep agreements. Unfortunately, you didn't keep your side - and as I see, you still don't want to understand it.

It is impossible to track a First Class or Priority package through customs. That is why SaviC requested and paid for USPS Express Mail International insured service. Even a small country like the Ukraine will receive thousands of pieces of overseas mail daily. Without full tracking they are impossible to track and trace.

Once again you are trying to move the responsibility of this mess to the buyer when you are at fault.
THE BUYER PAID FOR AND REQUESTED A SPECIFIC SERVICE....... And you saw fit to send it using an inferior method. If this was a genuine mistake or you deliberately used an inferior shipping service to save money....... I don't know.

However the responsibility for correct shipping was yours and you failed that responsibility.

You came here and opened a thread essentially accusing the buyer (SaviC) of being a "Scam Artist" when in fact he is nothing of the kind. It turns out that it was you who messed up.

Instead of apologizing, changing the title of this thread and waiting to see the outcome. You are back trying to shift the blame to the buyer who dealt with you in good faith.........

The OP was/is out of line with this thread.

That is how it sounds to me too SaviC.

Sounds like OP overreacted due to the hefty sum involved. He paid for a very costly mistake when he did not get the requested mailing service. Who knows if it was on purpose or not? But anyways I hope you receive your knife savic!

This guy "Gosh" gives me real pause...

1. He takes advantage of SaviC being from a foreign country and tries to paint him as an evil foreign scammer
2. He doesn't even mention the real heart of the problem: his own mistake of mailing the knife in the wrong way, i.e. the way they did NOT agree to
3. He is accusing the buyer of either stealing the knife (with no evidence to back that up), or at least of not making enough of an effort to see if anything happened to it at Ukraine customs

First of all, if I lived in a developing country like the Ukraine, I wouldn't want to deal with customs either, which is probably why he asked you to ship it express in the first place. Second, it's not his responsibility to make an extra effort to somehow "find" the knife; it was your mistake.

Not only do I not blame SaviC at all, but I think this "Gosh" guy owes him an apology.

Gosh,

It's difficult to add anything new as the proper advise has already been given. I understand this is an emotional time for you. The Holidays quickly approaching and you are out $1000 (Or as Savic stated he only received 400?) But as the buyer, he shouldn't have to take his time in tracking the package you mistakingly mailed with the improper service. Please don't embarrass yourself further and attempt to shift the blame to Savic as he did nothing wrong in this incident. A mistake was made on your end.....man up, admit it, but more importantly ACCEPT it and refund Savic his money.

Don't resort to a method of payment that offers international sellers no recourse only to protect yourself if you are that afraid of mailing overseas DONT offer it Internationally. Making that statement now after you have been clearly identified as the "At Fault" party in this only make you appear guilty as Savic has stated. Had you made this error even stateside, you would be out 1000 here also.

Edited to add......

And you should change the name of this thread ASAP

Yes, the thread name is offensive and defamatory.

I do hope for a good outcome for both concerned.
