I think one of the true measures of a man is not bringing baggage from another forum and then holding a grudge about it. Again, I used to do this but I killed that part of me off for the most part.

I have essentially lived here for the past two years after breaking my legs. I have noticed that people come and go but the topics have stayed the same, and that is why I keep coming back. Like others have said- if you don't like a topic then don't read it. I try to keep things level headed, and if I disagree with anything I state why and try not to get emotional with it. I have been viciously attacked for opinions before and allowed the other party to rant without flaming back and forth. My opinion is mine and yours is yours- I don't ever think I can change an opinion but I do like seeing how another opinion thinks, even if I cannot fathom how they believe what they do (Anthropologist training gets the blame here). This forum has taught me much and been my outlet for nature while I was stuck on my ass (just for you Don!) hardly able to move in and out of a car- for that I am eternally grateful!

As far as the forum itself goes. I do not feel that anything needs changing. We all give our opinions of what is posted (or not). It has been mentioned that there is a lot of "new Blood" here, and with the influx of new posters comes new ideas/experiences that have not been discussed before so I see no problem with asking the same questions repeatedly- new gear and new techniques come from constant testing/trying out/ mixing ideas.

IF you like what you have here- keep on with the same old, if not- do something to change it into what you would like it to be. Nothing worse IMO than somebody who complains about a problem and "takes their ball home" rather than put the work into making it what they would like it to be. (Not pointed to anybody just the way I feel about life in general). I will admit that there may seem to be a "clique" atmosphere as we get to know each other very well here and have personal relationships with many of the members here, but it is not an exclusive clique (I feel accepted even though I do not feel a part of the main group of experienced posters here). I love it here and think we do a good job of keeping ourselves in check (as opposed to any MMA website I've belonged to).


If one thing needs adapting it is "My new knife" threads, and all I would like to see is more details into why you chose the knife/why you designed it the way you did/ what features drove you to the purchase over what you already have/ what you expect the knife to handle or special purposes to the knife.

P.S. Not enough pictures- after all we have to show our pristine thousand dollar knives that will never reach the bottom of the PB jar, that we bought just to impress our friends (OK that one may have some truth to it).
