WE Knives? Another high end Chinese company?

Sharp eye my friend!!!! And a REALLY sharp knife!!
I put that cover on because I 'tested sharpness' quite a bit on the wheel!!!!
Joe
That is too funny Joe!!
I also had to buy a steering wheel cover for my work truck cause I kept testing the sharpness on the steering wheel.
Btw that 618 looks like nice for when I wear a suit.😎

These new WE 618 models look GREAT with very light, slick and slim profile and they should just disappear in the pocket.

You get four tame but classy neutral color schemes with black or gray variations. Thank goodness they stopped all the odd color schemes.

It's still proprietary screws with a provided tool.

Rides on ceramic bearings and apparently opens equally well with flipper or thumb studs.

Seems pricey at $295 but you get a 3.9" M390 steel blade, milled titanium, titanium clip and hardware. Can't believe it weighs just 3 ounces!

My only wish is that it had a 3" blade.

Hey Henkh,
do you have any information on the 612? Will it ever be available at normal retailers(Mesenzo)? That' s the one I' m most interested in currently.

I am sorry i don't know yet....I only know WE has a few in stock left (612A & 612B). And because i was organizing a Groupbuy i know Mesenzo was to put out a new order. So if you contact Mesenzo maybe he can order one for you with that new order.

I find it very interesting to hear the takes on the 615 - I think the flipping action is the best in my collection (including a wide array of Brous, ZT, Hoback, Ferrum Forge, Hinderer, Microtech, Guardian Tactical, Kizer, Reate, etc.) - I think it speaks to individual preferences more than anything. (?)

I do appreciate the feedback (of any kind)

First i get a lot of feedback people are not happy with the markings on the blade. All previous models had clean blades.
Speaking for myself, it is a very good knife. I think for dimensions, weight and so on, one of the most edcable models from WE this far. Great flipping actio accomplished with a moderate detent. Also the opening hole can be used i different ways.

I'm gonna talk with Joe about the markings on a couple of future models. I don't care if he puts any on at all, really - maybe have him put some on the inside of the show side near the finger choils (on the handle scale) on future models (we have a couple more in the pipe)

Actually, a better spot might be on the inside of the back spacer (the edge that faces the blade edge in the closed position) - so that it could be read easily if the blade was open and you looked for it.

Pretty sure it's thumbstud only. Have to admit, this is the first WE model that has made me sit up and take notice. Very lightweight, handsome knife.

An interesting feature of the 618 is that it does not have a stop pin (per se) - it has a "stop block" machined in to and part of the handle that the blade stops against.

The 618 is Thumb Stud only...just check my video and you can see.

My bad. 618 is thumb stud only opening.

It seems like in the WE line 609 is also thumb stud only opening and the rest are flipper opening.

I was in a Dutch pass around for the WE 617 organized by Henk. The knife is amazingly good! In fact it is that good I ordered one in a groupsbuy Henk also organized!

I was considering buying a Spyderco Magnitude, but after seeing that WE 617.

I will get one of those instead, once they are available in the USA.

My 615 has grown on me. I've learned how to flip it without shredding my finger and some of the "sharp" surfaces on the handle have tamed a bit with use. I no longer consider it a lazy flipper and it opens well by flipper or hole, which is a tricky balance on detent stiffness. It's a very smooth, speedy flipper. It almost closes too quickly; keep those fingers out of the way!

It's another WIN for WE!

I flick my knives constantly. Like, it annoys the hell out of my wife constantly (lol)

The 615 does have a different feel than the other WeKnives in my collection if I sit here and do a direct (and admittedly subjective) comparison. All are great! But the 615 feels, I dunno... lighter and more nimble might be right words. Less of a power flipper and more of a snappy edc. Just the way I like it. LOL

Not exact but very similar

Only because this was brought up - I designed the Cirrus (615) and submitted it to WeKnives over a year ago. The Archbishop (shown there) by Ferrum Forge was released earlier this year, with first photos posted to Instagram on 4/29/16 (months after I had the Cirrus designed.)

To be clear, there was no copying by anyone in the design of either knife and they were/are original designs all of their very own, with a variety of design differences.

I could probably make a solid list of good reasons to buy either knife, by the way. Ferrum Forge makes a heckuva knife (although I've not handled an Archbishop.)
