I imagine one of the small gigs will fit in an Altoids tin, no? A gig is a great survival tool in wet locations. We use them a lot in SA.
I'll save my space and just build a gig.
No problem with the monthly drawings and regular contests, but building a shelter on a day-trip or taking a picture of pristine RAT knives is getting kinda old and boring, don't you think?
I envision someone taking a RAT knife (or someone else's knife) and a pocket survival kit (and I do mean "pocket") into the wilds for 3 days with nothing else except the clothes on their back and seeing what they can come up with as far as surviving, or notOf course they would have to take a camera and keep a journal, and we would have to take them on their word that they're playing by the rules. In fact, we would have to come up with the rules before we start this RAT Tough Man competition.
My point is everyone always talks about "survival" but they end up taking everything but the kitchen sink with them when they're playing with their knives.
Feel free to offer any other contest ideas that would be a more extreme than what we've been doing. I'm sure we can come up with a lot of good prizes for a new contest. I would even be willing to interview the winner for an upcoming story in one of the magazines.
Well there ya go! Mr Survival man!![]()
Sounds like you need a girlfriend!![]()
I'll give a HEST knife for one of the prizes.
Monsterdog, Sorry but there is no way we would run a real survival contest and let people go home every night to their own bed, a camper or even a sleeping bag. Sorry, dude.
As for the animal names, please call me ''Hotdog''![]()
Damn, that hurts!
In fact, I have a girlfriend but can't figure out a way to fit her in that smal altoid tin :grumpy:
come on you could deflate her for the trip
People might get the wrong impression when some dude named "Horndog" is going into the bush for 3 days with a mint tin and a knife."Hotdog" is better than "Horndog"![]()
