We were all new here once

Newbie here from the UK.. Always had an interest in knifes. A friend buying a benchmade sparked my interest even more. Although being I. The uk limits what I can buy somewhat. We have a small number of dealers selling spyderco, benchmade etc. But not a huge range. Mainly as no one here carries a knife.. It being illegal basically.. (Unless it's under 3inchrs and doesn't lock, or you have a good reason to be carrying it)

After lots of reading on here and YouTube reviews I made my first purchase in the shape of a sebenza 25. So I thought of better get around to joining to thank you all for the information availble on here. It's rapidly becoming one of my favourite possessions and I'm already looking at more.. I've looked at other makers etc but keep coming back to Chris Reeves. Seriously considering a small 21 with damascus and inlays of some description! Shame it's such an issue getting them here! Although it's probably done my wallet a favour.,

hello.
i am new on this site so i need a little help.
i just bought a machete i guess but i donțt know anything about it.
Were should i post to get some help?
thanks for understanding

I might be giving you bad info , but try general knife discussion first.
Good info actually :).

There is a sub-forum here specifically dedicated to axes, hatchets, and tomahawks, and while machetes are sometimes discussed in that sub-forum, I've noticed that machetes get discussed more in the General Discussion forum.

Yah I searched Machete and came up with general knife discussion .......... and the axe section.
I dont post much here , but thought I,d put in my two cents .........
Thanks for confirming :)

Hello all! New here, and to knives. Name is Andrew.

I've recently been getting more into knives. They've always interested me, but I had no real need for a knife. After working at Home Depot where I always carry a box cutter, I got used to having a blade on me.

I started to look at some EDC knives, and recently picked up a Gerber Evo Jr, and a Kershaw Cryo. Love them both.

My first knife I bought was a Roku (?) I got at a tackle shop for $20 while heading to a cottage when I was about 14/15.

Then bought a CRKT first strike, when we used to go camping and bon fires more often.

So far, my "collection" is limited. Mostly Gerbers, and a kershaw. I'll take some pictures when I get home.

Cheers!

Hello everyone. Haven't carried a knife since I was a kid way back in the dark ages. Have recently gotten interested again. Modern knives have sure come a long way. Have bought a few. My current favorites are a Case Peanut and Spyderco Dragonfly2. Also have a Kershaw Chive and Cryo and a Buck 110.

Hello all, long time knife carrier. Just found this community and can't stop browsing. Love all the knives, just wish I had the funds for some knice knives. Own a good mix of crkt, boker, kershaw, and smith and Wesson.

Recently signed up myself, so hello everyone!
Been messing with knives and other sharp tools since I was 5 years old.
After 44 years, it still doesn't get old.

I am new here too! I just made a profile 5 minutes ago. I want to learn and see all of your beautiful blades!

Can someone tell me how to upload a photo from my computer to post a new thread or reply to an existing thread? tnx

You have to use a photo sharing site like Photobucket.com.

I'm sure there are other ways to post pics, but here's how I do it- I use Photobucket. I upload pics from my computer into my Photobucket account, then I write down the "Direct" link that Photobucket provides for the picture I want to use. I type the "Direct" link into my Bladeforums post, making sure to type
at the end of the "Direct" link, and my picture appears in my post when I hit "Preview Post".

If I were a "computer guy" I'm sure I could explain it better, but I'm no "computer guy" :). It took me a bit of trial and error before I finally figured out how to post pics here. Good luck.

I'm an older gent, no green horn in the common sense, but a noob to knives. My experience so far has been that this is one of the most sharing, open and forthright interests I've yet encountered. Coming from the motorcycle world (I made custom pipes) where most guys are kinda protective of their trade secrets, it is refreshing to find real master artisans that are very willing to share how they do their mojo.

Anyway, I'm glad to be here and hope to learn enough to pass it along. I make a better grey beard than noob.

Hello all! I am from Puerto Rico and new to the knife world, I hope to learn a lot from you all. I started my journey with a cold steel voyager tanto L and about a week into pocket carrying the tanto y saw a cold steel recon 1 cp mini and bought it. I never new that knives were addictive as guns!
