We were all new here once

I am new. Loves blades. And have to know more and more about them. I recently started cooking more, so. I have more kitchen knives than you can shake a chicken at.
But anyway looking forward to get some great advice.

As far as posting pics, see post #377 in this thread (the post numbers are in the upper right hand corner of each post in case you didn't know). I don't know if it's the best way to post pics here, but it works for me.

And welcome to the forum.

New to the site. Great bunch of people out here! I am learning a great deal every time I'm in this app. I love it. I was wondering, does anyone know how to share photos from an iphone. Not on the PC at all and only way of communicating right now is unfortunately through my phone. And info welcomes. And it's great to be here.

Sorta new- Been into shiny things my whole life, I ain't no spring chicken, and have been coming here off and on for a few years, great forum for info and knife porn. :)
I just found I can get good axes cheap and one of my many hobbies is woodworking and vintage hand tools so I started posting mostly in the axe forum. I have also been grinding steel into blades for many years but only one knife a year as I have a full time job and a family. I'm more interested in plain jane hand made and vintage folding knives than the flashy customs and modern tactical, the same goes for my firearms, give me revolving blue steel.

Hi Lee from Western NC. Been lurking for a while and it's time to join.
Thanks in advance. I am sure I will learn a lot.

Lee

New here but loving the site already, as it's a great resource and I love to see all the photos of various knives shared in different forums and threads.

Also a newbie here from Belgium. Due to my straight razor shaving hobby, and firearms, I got interested in knives as well.
My first good knife is the Laguiole (real deal from France, not some Pakistan fake one), and an Opinel no8.
Now here to learn more about other brands, types, sharpening etc.

Yeah, this is a great forum to learn about knives and in particular learning about "other knives" that you have not become interested in yet. It is a knifeaholic's dream come true.

Registered awhile back, but have been more of an on and off lurker. I've been bit by the custom bug and have been finding myself coming here more often. My wife has also shown a mild interest in some of my blades and apparently one of my knives is really hers to use in the kitchen. I've got to stay on top of keeping her kitchen knives sharp or else she might still one of mine. I've also set a goal for myself to own a hand crafted item from each state and knives seem like a fun, yet expensive, way to accomplish that goal.

Hey, I guess this introduction is some what over due. I have been interested in knives for most of my life, but only recently started collecting.
My join date kind of marks when I jot serious about collecting. I really appreciate everything I have been able to learn here on the forum.

Thank you for posting this. :) As someone that is new to knives and posting on this forum I have received both positive and negative feedback. I'm aware that I can seem a bit of a 'know it all' since I'm new but I don't 'intend' on sounding like this. With that said, some of the negative feedback was completely unnecessary. A lot of time people are only seeking knowledge and guidance. This has actually been a bit of a positive to me. I'm learning to think about things before I type them so that the experienced and passionate knife people are able to respond properly. I also want to go ahead and thank ALL of you for your experience, guidance, and suggestions. A lot about blades is 'preference' but the VERY important factors are fact. The facts have taken years of experience to learn. If you were not for people like you, quality knives that excel in their operations would be a thing of the future. Blades have come SOOO far from their roots in our human existence and it's because of people like you that have such a passion for steel. :) Again, thank you. :)
