We were all new here once

Hi All Just Joined and have been aware of the Forum for a While, I really just started into Knives, Most of my life it has been Hunting and Fishing and Camp Knives...After watching Many U-tube Videos, It has sparked a Interest in Slip Joints, and Traditional Knives... I have bought a Few On Amazon. I look forward to just reading and learning more, I am not a collector. but will EDC what I buy..and I like to Learn as Much as Possible about a Particular Brand and Style, before I Buy..I thank you for your Service to the Knife Community,,,Cheers!!!

Hello everyone! Time for me to start participating in a great forum that has provided me with tons of information over the years... thank you!

I'm partial to anything that cuts. I attribute that to growing up in the Pacific Northwest, part of a family that loves and respects the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping, and woodcutting are all skills I am working on passing on to my kids.

I don't mean to be preachy, but those of us who have been here awhile know that sometimes newbies don't always receive much in the way of patience and understanding. Sometimes it's easy to jump on those who are new to knives, know less than we do, or simply have different tastes in knives. Sometimes criticism comes a little too easy on internet forums./QUOTE]

Morning everyone ! Brand new here and trying to fill a huge gap in my knowledge base. Background is in military/survival ie Gerber MkII, Randall, Ek, etc.

Spending a lot of time in the woods and intent on moving from my boat anchors (Esee) and my feeler gauges (Mora) to something in between. That's right. I'm studying knives and makers of (dare I say it) Bushcraft tools !

Hey y'all, I'm new to the forums and new to knife making. Been doing research online and lurking for a bit but I wanted to get into the community that I've come to admire. I'm living in the Tidewater area of VA right now, but I tend to follow the work. Hope to get a lot of knowledge and eventually pass some on.

Hello,
registered a while back, but forgot I had an account. So I have been lurking., lame i know.
Just did a deal with a member here, and picked up a carbon Lg sebenza 21 love the thing!

New guy on the block. Someone once told me, men who like guns, also like knives! That's me. I'll follow the rules, if I step out of line, let me know. I did read the part about what is the value of my knife? I think that's up to the individual, making the purchase. I'll be honest, I tend to try and get a bargain anytime I purchase a knife. I've brought a few from Pawn Stores. Of course Gun Shows, EBay and other retailers. Most Pawn Stores will let you haggle some, and come down on price. I recently acquired a Boker Top Flight 1, automatic, made in Germany. Of course I wanted to read some reviews, which lead me here, BladeForum. I'm pleased w/the knife, it'll have a place in my collection, sometimes I use it as my EDC. On eBay, "Buyer Beware", so far so good. I've purchased a Gerber Mark I & Mark II, made in the USA. Both had issues, chipped blade, broken tip, etc. So, I sent them to a reputable individual, and had them repaired. I am pleased, and consider them a good investment.
So, this my first reply. I hope to be able to contribute to the forum in a positive manner, as time goes on will try and post pictures of what I have, and how I got it. Yes, I know I have a few that makes me wonder what was I thinking, when I brought it.
Regards To One & All,
Daniel

Hello, all. Getting into the knife world a little more. Love guns and cars (guns especially) and I'm here to learn something new.

i can tell I'm going to pick up a lot of neat info. I'd really like to give some reviews on my own knives. Nonthing technical, just the basic mechanics of the knife. Hopefully, I'll be able to post some pictures down the road.

Welcome to Bladeforums.

If you go down to the Quick Navigation box at the lower right hand corner of the screen where it says "General Knife Discussion", click on that and scroll down a little until you see "Sheaths & Such" and click on that, that's a sub-forum here that's all about sheaths.

There is also an exchange forum (scroll further on down) where items are bought, sold, and traded. But I believe that you have to be a paid member here to buy or sell on this forum.

Good luck in your search.

Good morning everybody! We are new to this forum and just wanted to say hello.
This forum is any knife enthusiasts Mecca.
Looking forward to talking to many of you and finding some top quality products.
Cheers

First off i'm new here and saying HI officially.

This has to be the BEST explanation about new members, posters, ect I have ever seen on any forum i have been on.

Although i am not a expert on all aspects of knives, steels, designs, i do have a basic understanding of the topics mentioned, and look forward to learning what i can. My collection of knives, swords, axes, hawks is very small, some are even from my childhood which i have managed to clean up and bring back to a usable state (after a beating and miss use only a kid can do).

Hey guys Finally decided to join after lurking on the forums for a little bit. I'm from small town in Tennessee. I love being outdoors if its hunting fishing or back packing. I just finished my first knife for myself I'm addicted.

figured I would pop in and say hello. im new here although ive been reading the forums for a while. its nice to know that their are folks are out there like minded. glad to be here
cheers!

Have always liked Gerbers have carried them for years. Have never failed me. But I only carry USA made knives Sorry no Chinese products!!

Great we all started that way. Some of us just went on to become obsessed with blades of all sorts. It's a GREAT hobby! We all hope that you thoroughly enjoy it!

Ya I have 30 guns or so. Still into blades, for many reasons. The ART, as in the beauty, the functionality,& the everyday practicality. Everyday someone says to me "why do you carry a knife ?" & everyday someone says to me "can I borrow your knife ?". Regardless of what anyone says a knife, like a crowbar or any other tool can be used for violence. or murder. Your car or a 2x4 will both kill people. It is not the object but rather the intent that is to blame. Guns don't kill people, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE!! Thank you Paul Parent
