We were all new here once

I have not much idea of how much this may be worth , but I'd like to try and find out. If anyone can inform me as much as possible, feel free to message me or reply to this thread . It has a certificate of authenticity included and looks to be very old. I've provided pictures below . thanks !
You have to be a paying member of this forum to ask how much a knife is worth. It's in the forum rules. It's also in the "stickies" below this thread.

In any event, this thread is not for asking how much a knife is worth, or providing any such answers.

Oh I'm sorry. Do I delete the post or edit that question completely out ? Sorry, I'm a total noob.

No problem, like the title of the thread says "We were all new here once" ;).

You can just edit the post by clicking on "edit post" down in the lower right hand corner of your post, deleting what was written, type "deleted", and "submit reply".

It's not possible to delete a post entirely, there has to be something typed. That's why many people type "deleted" when they want to delete their post.

Thanks , will do . 😀

After spending some time with my brother-in-laws collection, my passion for bladed objects has been rekindled. I'm looking forward to learning and contributing to this community.

I am the new guy here as of today. I have been looking for reliable on-line dealers. I have used Smokey Mountain Knife
works and GP Knives for a couple of purchases. Can the collective fountain of knowledge provide any advice? I have also been able to visit the Randall, Spyderco and SMKW factory/Stores in my travels.

Welcome to Bladeforums Moreyl.

Here is a link to a list of online knife retailers who are also paid sponsors of Bladeforums. I can't personally vouch for all of them because I haven't ordered from all of them, but the owner of this forum has given them his approval.

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1089879-Paid-Dealers-Member-List-(Updated-12-20-15)

You can also research other peoples experience with specific online retailers by visiting a sub-forum here at Bladeforums entitled- "FEEDBACK: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly". It's a sub-forum where people discuss their knife purchasing experiences involving retailers and private individuals. You can also post questions in that sub-forum about any online retailers you might be interested in purchasing from to find out what other peoples experiences have been with them.

You can find that sub-forum by clicking on the white button that says "Forum" at the top of the screen under the Bladeforums logo. That will take you to the forum directory. The "GB&U" sub-forum is in the sixth box down under the heading "The Knife Exchange".

Hi All, I've been signed up for a couple weeks and really enjoying the blade community. I've historically been into traditional folders from GEC/Case and am now branching out into other knife style, which is horrible for my pocket book.

Hello to all fellow knife/edc enthusiasts. I stumbled upon this site recently and decided that my knife collection has become large enough that I can consider myself hooked. I am excited about the wealth of knowledge here on this site and look forward to learning and sharing here. this seams like a great site with a ton of very knowledgable folks. Thanks for having me.

I really can appreciate this, while I'm not new to knives, (have been collecting for almost ten years and selling them for three) I am new to a forum. I don't expect to know everything and am happy to share my knowledge and experiences, but I know I'm a bit new to computers in general and definitely to something like this, would really like to see more positive than negative experiences in my first forum.

Question for anyone, is there an appropriate place to display pictures of my collection? I don't want to put it up somewhere and then get chewed out for where I put the pictures up, I tried searching and couldn't find anywhere that was specific to it so should I just add it to my page or is there a thread for collections or what's the deal?

You can start a thread in General Discussion (this sub-forum right here that you're in now).

It's not uncommon for new members to start a thread in GD and introduce themselves by posting pics of their collections. There's no reason why anyone would give you a hard time for doing so. Quite the contrary, people here like to look at other members collections.

Welcome to Bladeforums. :)

Greetings from the Shire. Had a small collection as a kid/teen and about a month ago ran across a Gerber Gator First Production Run in a drawer. Carried it a few days and remembered why I used to. A week later ordered a Manix2 and have acquired 2 more spydercos since. I am now spending half my day trying to talk myself out of dropping some serious cash on a CF Dodo. My wallet is angry. Anyway...nice to be here.

Hey All, I am also new the forum and to the world of knives. I have always carried a knife but never really paid any attention to the quality. I got sick of losing the edge so quickly on cheap knives with very cheap stainless steel. I recently bought a Benchmade Nakamura in S90V. Despite having large hands, the small knife fits perfectly and has been great for every day use. I decided to join here to learn about sharpening and maintain my EDC as well as my Wusthoff kitchen knives. Anyway, nice to meet y'all! I look forward to hearing any input I can get from you!

I am new here too! I am a knife collector from Poland. No knife specific laws here. It is legal to cary a machete in public (theoretically). :)
