Welcome back! Current status, known issues, and more.

It's working for me just like before the update.
I just copy and past the BBCode (second from bottom) directly into a message. No need to use the insert image button.

This is on a desk top computer machine. It may be different on phones and such.

I’ve always copied the direct link and put that in the insert image field, but only because I like that it inserts the photo in your draft rather than the URL/code.

I don’t like Imgur’s mobile format (it’s particularly bad for locating anything you posted a while back) so on my phone I keep their website set to the desktop version.

Really appreciating this new update. One of my more used features is the ability to change the format on the fly. Really enjoying this. Thanks for the improvements’

Spark Spark I cannot get pictures to attach anymore with the new update. The other day I had no problems but the last 2 days I cant get a single one to attach. When I select a photo it acts like its downloading but then nothing appears in the small box and there is no "insert" link to insert it into my thread or comment. Please help.

Also when I try to download a pic by clicking the little picture icon I keep getting a message that says oops we've encountered a problem.

When I go into Conversations, it only says 28/300 and 9%, which is way off. But if I actually open one of the conversations, then it shows the correct percentage.

Interesting. User cache's might have to be rebuilt.

Just realized that the 28 is the number of conversations, so the 9% is actually correct based on a limit of 300 conversations. But did the limits change? The description for Platinum still says 200 conversations and 500 messages.

There seems to be a lag between when someone sends a PM and when the email notice was received. I was sent a PM yesterday at 5:15 pm, but didn't receive an email notice until 8:30 this morning.

Unless I'm understanding wrong I don't think there's a problem, I'm a gold member allowed 100 conversations and 250 messages. The first percentage you're seeing is conversations and the 2nd is messages. When I check my conversation list I have 17/100 and 17% which is correct because I have 17 conversations in my inbox. When you open a conversation it then shows 48% which is also correct because I have 119 messages of the 250 I'm allowed.

Black mode looks even better. Not sure what all was changed very recently but it looks good.

The attach images directly experience has changed vastly since the upgrade. I used to resize the approximately 4000x3000 file to 2000x1500 and post with no issue either through the 'Attach files' button in the bottom left of posting area or by clicking the "mountain" at the top of the posting area.

Now, in the second case, the image appears inline with the post for a few seconds then a popup appears that says "Oops, we ran into a problem." Using the first method, nothing appears.

I was able to attach the image above using the "mountain" by cropping it quite excessively, as you can see.

IMG_20210501_213205_r1.jpg

The above was done by reducing the resolution to 1000x1333 which made the file less than 400 kB.

IMG_20210501_213205_r2.jpg

The above has been reduced to 1150x1553 and yields a file 476.5 kB.

IMG_20210501_213205_r3.jpg

The above is 1175x1567 and 494.9 kB. It was posted using the 'Attach files' button and selecting insert full size.

IMG_20210501_213205_r4.jpg

Above is 1200x1600 and 512.5 kB.

IMG_20210501_213205_r5.jpg

Above was resized by me to 1250x1667 (557 kB) and was posted as a 324 kB file here.

Like I said, very different experience from before when I'd resize them all to 2000x1500 or 1500x1125 and post no problem. It seems the happy resize is going to be 1200x1600.

I've never had to resize a picture to post it. Never. I'd be highly disappointed to have to start now considering this whole thing has been called an "upgrade". I'm also not getting an error message telling me my pictures are too large. I'd like a response from admin sooner than later as I have some buisness I'd like to conduct. It's hard to be effective without pictures. I would have no reason to be a paying member here if my posts and buisness aren't effective.

Agreed. I resized to take up less space in the post but I've posted full 12MP pictures at their full resolution of 4032x3024 in the past. Something has changed.

You should NEVER have been able to directly upload 4032x3024 12mb pictures to the site. EVER. If you were able to do so it's a sign that something was broken previously that's now fixed.

Image upload limits were increased from 1024x768 to 1920x1920 recently, with a 5mb 2mB upload cap per image. If your image is larger than that, resize it, or host it on a dedicated image hosting site. BladeForums.com is not here to be an unlimited photo storing solution; that isn't our mission and won't be. We've already recently had to upgrade server disk space due to people filling up 60+ gB in a matter of months, and I'd like to avoid that as that stuff is expensive.

If you want more photo hosting for your profile, I'll be happy to discuss increased quotas for increases in membership rates.

Again, I had zero issues uploading images on the old format. I have changed no settings in my phone but now I am unable to upload images. I am also not getting any error messages telling me my images are too large. It seems the issue is on your end and not mine if I had no issues before but do now.

Yep, came to that same conclusion a couple posts above yours. Now my only question is the number of conversations allowed...the Platinum description still says 200, but my profile says I have 28 out of 300, so something is off.

Not 12 MB. MP. The largest I've ever posted that I can verify right now is over a MB. 99% of the images I post are less than 500 kB while very few are 0.7 to 0.9 MB.

The old format used flash for image uploading. With flash abandoned, there's a new uploading system and we're still working out all the issues. If you are running into a failure on PC, hit F12 and select "Network" and report the error you get.
