Well I got to look at the Sebenzas and...

Good luck getting one. It is usually not good when some one mentions a makers name and the first thing you think of is the GB&U. Here is a very long thread about very long waits by the lucky who actually got their orders from this guy: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...low-Delivery-waitlist-thread?highlight=Gareth

Just FYI I bought all of mine on the secondary market. They are out there at good prices just watch the forums. There are 2 of his knives for sale now. Second I agree with Slorenzo. There are a lot of makers who run into bumps in the road. I could personally go through a ton of them including a very high end maker who has had 2 of my knives for a basic repair for over 8 months. Sometimes they get behind. Good things come to those who wait. I will say though CRK is a good option if you don't want to wait. There are a lot of them out there. His quality is good. You don't win the quality award at blade like a zillion times without a good product.

Checked one of these out while on vacation. Thats gotta be one of the best Benchmade designs yet.

Though there were some niggles; Primary grinds were not quite even, the handles were slightly mis-aligned, and personally the thumbstud and lockbar cutout shape are not my cup of tea. Just couldn't justify the price to me.

It doesn't get much better than this.... $7.95 all in. :D But I do still have a Sebenza or Zaan on my wish list.

So you weren't one who has waited 3 years for a knife. People need to be careful who they recommend. This guy has several threads on him in the GB&U and I recognized his name immediately (not a good thing). He still owes people knives from 2012 while he produces other stuff! Enough said. No bad business or overwhelmed excuses for such a thing.

When I first got mine I wasn't terribly impressed and questioned why it cost so much but after carrying for a month straight, it's all I carry and all I really want to carry. They grow on you hardcore. That's just my opinion though, your mileage may vary!!

I'm tired of trying to explain CRK, to people. The quality is there. Period.

If you don't get it, buy something you do get. Just don't pretend that all of the things people love and admire about CRK don't exist.

They do. It's a fact. The precision is a fact. The quality control is a fact. There is a reason they have over a decade of being the most praised knife in the industry.

This much is true. If somebody denies that it's a precision tool made from the finest materials and built to tolerances unheard of they are either ignorant or just trying to piss you off. Comfort and usability on the other hand is entirely subjective. I happen to think it's the most comfortable knife in my collection, and I wouldn't trade MY Sebenza for any knife out there...even some outrageously expensive limited edition mid tech knife.

I rotate between a Spyderco and my Sebenza. The Spyderco opens easier, and closes safer and easier too. The hole in the blade ( pure genius) works better than the stud on the blade.

Meh. Simply not as well designed as a Spyderco Military. Tolerances blah blah blah

Opinions are like belly buttons, everyone has one. But when the evidence is looking at you in the face, opinions really don't matter.

My highest respect, in engineering, goes to the lowest tolerances. The most famous rifle in human history is the Kalashnikov AK47. More dependable than any automatic rifle because of its lack of tolerances.

Yup, even *I*, who am one who considers the Sebenzas I've owned to be about as soul-less as a vapid Miss Universe contestant and feeling like nothing more than a titanium brick when held in hand with hollow blade grinds that look like a street gutter, will agree with what you wrote,

They are probably, at least to their fans, considered the benchmark of folders and are fine, very well constructed knives. :)

EDIT: Further....me not being a carrot-slicer, what good's a Sebenza gonna do me when I own a Grayman?
