Whacha Been Up To......

Not so much. When I’ve ordered directly from the tannery shipping has always been slow and relatively expensive. Try Makers Leather Supply or The Hide House next time. Makers carries that russet in several different weights

Ok, thanks. I ordered it from Wickett & Craig - I thought they were the tannery.

They are. The other two I mentioned are suppliers that sell Wicket and Craig as well as other leathers. Shipping is faster, normally a couple days from either. Wicket and Craig russet skirting is by far my favorite leather. Its really cool that Maker's carries it in different weights, already split, as well. The tannery will split a side for you free of charge to what ever lighter weight ya might want but that takes more time. The 3 or 4 days they told me the one time I had them do it turned into 3 or 4 weeks before it got done.

You are really gonna like this leather.

Thanks. It's really nice looking leather. I'm sure that I will love it.

Still on a slip sheath kick with another one made for my Swiss Army folder

Crusaders Cross embossing will have to do, which was meant to be a bead but I figured it could be 'pressed' into work also as an embossing tool

The milled leather really shines on projects like this

Thanks Dave, I trim the edges quite close to the stitching, keeping the overall size/width of the slip sheath narrow, also I think it just looks trimmer that way :)

and the other guys that have been posting recently, very nice work guys! looks great !

It's been a while making wet formed sheaths, been making those slip sheaths so this was a nice way to get back into the groove of using the heavier leather.

And just finished up my sheath for my Rough Ryder Reserve Clasp folder RRR014, very handsome folder and ground down thin to cut well, but a tad wide for in my pocket carry so a belt sheath was in order, dark brown dyed leather and my fav embossing.

Nice work, Gary. That Indian Head looks nice. Did you use an arbor press for it?
