What are you watching & why? (splain)

Watched Season 6, Episode 8 of "Better Call Saul" last night. Why? I've been watching from the first season and they are now a half dozen or so episodes from the end, so I'm not going to stop watching now.

To me, this was probably the best hour of television I've ever seen. I can only think of maybe three or four episodes of any shows ever that were even close to as good (and two of those were from its predecessor series, "Breaking Bad").

TBH, the first six episodes of season six were a bit of a letdown to me. Just seemed slow and aimless. Episode 7 turned that around in a big way. And now we get Episode 8 . . . just 🤯. Very few movies, whose tickets cost $12 or more in a theater, are put together even close to as well. Riveting plot, spot-on dialog, great acting , , , especially the actor who played Lalo Salamanca . . . absolutely brilliant.

Highest possible recommendation.

^...damn... I guess I know what I'm watching next

Still watching and enjoying "The Old Man" and "Dark Winds."

However, I'm surprised that the final episode of the "Dark Winds" airs next week and "The Old Man" the week after. Pretty short seasons of 6 and 7 episodes.

Just started watching Season 4 of Westworld -- Episode 3 just aired -- and there are enough twists to still make it interesting. It's due to run for 8 episodes (which seems pretty standard these days) ending on Aug 24th.

I plan to watch the HBO GoT prequel -- "House of the Dragon" -- which begins on Aug 21st and the Prime LotR prequel -- "The Rings of Power" -- which begins on September 2. "House of the Dragon is scheduled for 10 episodes and "The Rings of Power" is scheduled for 8.

"The Terminal List" on Prime which I already finished watching was 8 episodes long but since everyone on the list is deadand, since the list was thrown in the ocean, I doubt there'll be another season.

However, "Reacher" that I've also watched and was also on Prime, was also 8 episodes long and is apparently scheduled for another season in 2023.

Wish Chris Pratt (Jurrasic World, Tomorrow War & Terminal List) would take over the role of Reacher in "Reacher" but unfortunately we're stuck w/the boring offensive lineman sized guy (an "actor"named Alan Ritchson) who played the role in Season 1 and who's mainly played bit parts on TV and in B/C grade movies.

Oh well . . . I'll still watch Season 2 of "Reacher" anyway . . . just because. LOL! ;)

Great time to revisit GF I & II
I had heard a rumor way back in the 1970s from someone in New York who claimed to know, that James Caan actually really did kick "Carlo's" ass in the famous beatdown scene in the street in the Godfather. Seemed far fetched to me. But it was confirmed (?) in the Paramount series, "The Offer." which I really enjoyed. As they tell it, the asshole actor who played Carlo actually slapped Talia Shire in their fight scene, and she went running off the set crying her eyes out afterwards. The producer Albert Ruddy found out, and he pulled Caan aside and told him to kick the dude's ass for real when they filmed that scene. I still don't know for sure, because you can clearly see that at least two punches were pulled. But it's a nice story, anyway.

No wonder that actor who played Carlo in The GF had his recollection of Jaan, after his passing, as a rude dude or something!

Back onto the topic, Hulu sent me a free month subscription offer which I took up to check out Old Man, Murders in the Building (I had watched S1 when I had Hulu). I may even check out Pam & Tommy, eh, ah, because of the "acting".

Started watching the first episode of "The Offer" last night. Pretty good so far.

Forgot about that one.

Need to add it to the list of shows to watch (which is getting very long) but I think I'm going to start watching "The Bear" (a "Kitchen Confidential" type cooking show) 1st.
