What brands WON'T you own?

I really like the "over-priced" argument. Funny how the more you make and can spend, the higher that bar goes :) I never thought I'd spend the money for a Sebenza I just couldn't see how it could be "worth it". Let me tell you, it's "worth" every penny TO ME. Odd as it may sound, I'm more comfortable with that purchase than any other blade purchase I've made. That's a personal opinion and can't be argued with. It's like anything else; there is just something about quality that's hard to put a price tag on.

Ooh...forgot to mention Dalton. I can't support any knifemaker who put white supremacist markings on their knives. I'd comment further but the language I'd use to describe him is only suitable for W&C and does not belong in the General forum.

Not a fan of Benchmade. Its not a quality issue I have with them. I think that Benchmade makes quality knives; I just think they overcharge people for what they are getting. Too many other manufactures make equal or better quality knives for less money.

I will also never own a Strider knife. I just won't and I'm not going to explain why. It's a personal thing and theres to many "fan-boys" around that will want to argue with me about it.

What is a "white supremacist marking" ?

What is a "white supremacist marking" ?

The first one is for Aryan Brotherhood. The second one needs no explanation

Heck, even if I hadn't seen that thread, I wouldn't support Dalton based on the tacky-ness of the engravings. Epic levels of awful.

As far as other makers I won't touch- Alan Blade and Jack Crain are two big ones. Alan Blade is just a sleaze. And Crain reportedly stole from a dying man:(.

Mike Stewart falls into the "I'll buy his goods second hand so he doesn't get my money" range.

why would a knife maker want to put aryan brotherhood and nazi symbols on their knives????? thats ridiculous.

I own quite a few knives but I don't buy any knife that is not made in USA. Having said that I don't buy Benchmade. My favorites are Rat Cutlery,Kershaw,Bark River,Great Eastern and older Case knives.

How could I forget about Dalton an his affiliation with racism? Definitely wouldn't own one of those.

I heard rumblings on how Robbie Dalton is a straight up racist that doesn't try to hide it. And I avoided his knives. Avoid it them I tell you. I wouldn't even carry one if they were handed out. My mama brought me up right.

And how can BladeHQ even sell the ones with those markings, it makes me think twice about buying from there.

And I'll bet you've never once complained about eBay's meddlesome, overly-controlling, BS rules either.

You can't have it both ways. I think the knives are just as offensive as you do, but I'd rather have the marketplace decide what's acceptable than some Internet auction site.

At BladeHQ thousands of knives are sold by same person. That person allows something like that to be sold in his/her store under his/her supervision- what does that say about him/her? What does it say about the store? It's pretty poor judgment.

And I agree with you, some of the ebay rules are too restrictive. I can't buy auto knives, and no C4:thumbdn::grumpy:

I mainly stick to:
Benchmade (personally have been treated very well. They sent me a clip when i broke one for free--and I lve in canada)

Spyderco. Love the knives, love the company.

CR knives--love my seb

Busse--like the personality

BArk river--great knives imo

Rat--like the company, still need to get a rat
