I got this 105 at the last minute to put in my wifes stocking. I think I like it better than my 117.

I think the Vanguard is the coolest looking knife Buck sells!I just ordered the December BOTM 500 Duke! I also (finally) ordered a 192 Vanguard Walnut! I've been doing a tango with the Vanguard for a couple of years now. Either my cart is already too expensive, I don't have enough for free shipping, I decide to pull the trigger without free shipping and they are out of stock, I'm just not feeling it, etc. I was going to order one last week when Buck had a shipping special going on, and it showed out of stock. (For the record, the search page showed it out of stock today, but when I clicked on it, I was able to order it. I'm sure Buck will make it right if there are any issues.) [Picture is from Buck's site.]

I believe Buck 105 is the best fixed blade made today for general use - excellent choice and a real value to get the Pro version if you happen to be a BCCI/ Buck Pro member.I got this 105 at the last minute to put in my wifes stocking. I think I like it better than my 117.

Good for you, don't see to many of them come up.I decided to give it a good home.![]()
It was posted in the Axes, Hatchets, and Tomahawks section of the Exchange which is why I’m guessing it lasted as long as it did till I came back and checked again in the afternoon.Good for you, don't see to many of them come up.
have thought about it many times... if it was a 501 they would have got me... i missed out on the red 119 from december or november web specials, hoping it would appear in my stocking, so you should be happy you pulled the trigger... enjoy it...I just ordered the December Knife of the month. I held out as long as I could. I eventually caved-in
Very nice. If it was a 112 I'd bite. I have a few things in the mail and on order so I'll pass...There's a rumor.
A rumor about a Stealth Run #005 Buck 110.
And a pachyderm whose self control failed.
<sigh>
Perfect, I’d love to hear how this compares to the higher priced versions. Your posts are just some of several that have me wanting to try one of these out. If this one is close, I’d order one in a heartbeat. Please let us know if you don’t mind.I’ve got a three flavors of Sprint/Sprint Ops Pros, and as much as I love them, they’re just too nice (expensive) to want to carry around regularly … although I did carry one for awhile. In fact one of them can no longer be replaced. Their size is perfect for me, but I couldn’t bare for anything to happen to any of them. Then I had a thought - why not grab a cheaper version of the line that I won’t mind beating on, and won’t go into a permanent depression if I were to lose it. So on the way is a Sprint Select, which upon arrival will assume regular carry duty.
