What Did You Cut with Your Buck (Yesterday or Today)?

Buckaholic, in those bloody photos it looks like your knife blade is hyper extended? Did the thumbstud come out or is the angle of the knife in the photo just playing tricks on me?
It's the photo angle Vivi. The stud is covered by my cut thumb in the photo and the blade spine is straight in line with the handle :)

I have just got to see that puppy when you have it, Goose!
Thanks A.P.F. We will both have to wait "9 weeks" :( for that Pinned 110NS FG Damascus Koa

sorry for the poor picture quality, I used my cell phone camera

Avocados or just some huge nuts? ;)

...I used a 296 GY to cut up 12 pounds of half frozen beef into 1/4 inch strips for jerky that I'm gonna be smokin' this weekend...Lordy that ATS34 cuts like nuts...:D

That is pretty cool! How did it perform hawkeye?

Well Messy. It did great cutting the head and tail off.Cutting the hands and feet off as well. But it might have been a little ,well it ,it did o.k.
on the rest of the job.
I want to see how it does on deer and turkey.Oh yea I got to try
it on croppie too when they start up again.

...Gooser...That 298 has got to be one of the best suggestions and bits of advice anyone has ever given me...That darn thing has been used to cut hundreds of boxes at work and rope that my wife asked me to string up for dryin' clothes...which my 2 grown daughters then asked me to do for them as well, lots and lots of summer sausages, fish to be smoked, beef to be turned into jerky...it has stripped the insulation off wire and so many other things that I can't even remember...IT STILL DOESN'T NEED TO BE SHARPENED ! ! !...It is truly a great little knife. That one is ATS34 steel. I have another one that's 154CM that I'm sure will be just as good. That one has a bad liner lock that I'm gonna send out to Joe if I ever find a free moment. Marv I can't thank ya enough for that "bit of advice" ya gave to me a long time ago...Fantastical knife...:p

don't care if we kill one or not.But his wife makes Home made fried Pies.
She makes them out of Pears that they get off his brother tree.Man they
are well worth carring a shotgun throught the river bottom all morning
shooting at squirrels for.We stop had have coffee and her home made fried
pies. Then if we get enough to make a squirrel mulligen .
So I skin them ,thats my job.LOL.So I guess it's like a Buck knife field test.:D

I can imagine it was a little big for the skinning part, but it would be a good choice for the heavy cutting. Still hoping to try mine on deer or whatever I happen to bag this Fall.

Dang...I was raised on squirrel. Fried usually. Head too, of course.

squirrel = limb chicken

It's been years, but I remember you remove the hide by piercing it midway on the back. Then insert a couple fingers of both hands in the hole and pull both ways.

Up here in WI we call 'em "tree rats" :D

We clean them the same way you describe, and they sure are tasty!!! ;)
I always preferred my mini mentor or 110!!

Earlier this week, I opened up my two custom 110 boxes - yesterday, I cut them down to take up less space - with the '06 version I recently bought from Academy for $21.99 + s/t... it wasn't the least bit impressed with it's pricey new siblings - and remains scarey shaving sharp.

I used my EDC Odyssey to open a box with ten new NXT’s for my crew and two 110’s for me.

I butterflyied 36 , 16/20 size shrimp today with my 889.It was just right
for the job.I like the way it lays in the hand. The blade was not to
big fealing or anything. Thanks to Goose and Messy for turning me
on to this Buck.;)

I was at a gig Sunday so the camera was set up, had to open a few pacs of hi-8 film....OL Rubber Bucky slit right threw the plastic for a effortless openning of the tape case. If you ask my father-inlaw if he has a knife you could borrow he would say "Sure, got my pants on "

Brothers Buck 102, skinned out his Doe and Processed the meat.
My Dad had a larger version from way back that he still uses.
For some reason I discounted them for a long time while I tried everything else as a hunting/skinning knife. Using my brothers 102 reminded me of what it was all about and I just ordered my 802SS. I prefer the S30V over the HC. Can not wait to put it to use. :)
