Just finished hanging this Plumb Boy Scouts hatchet. My aunt and uncle found this one for me at a flea market for a few bucks. The poll was badly mushroomed and someone tried to sharpen the bit with a bench grinder. I did my best to re-shape the poll. I gave it a new edge and gave it a proper haft. I also tried a forced patina using vinegar. I'm really happy with how it turned out and excited to show my aunt and uncle.

Looks 100% better! You do what you can with the poll, only the axe nuts will notice that one's been reworked.
Here's a Collins I recently re-hafted for a friend>nothing special, just cleaned up the poll and blade. Reshaped a House handle that had unusually good grain orientation.![]()
