Worked on this Hults Brukaby last night. So far just file work on this one. Really happy to have a decent file again, I need to order a couple more to keep on hand. No more hardware store files for me.

@ Hacked, what files did you get that you were happy with?

It's more of what I'm not happy with lol. I've not had the best luck with Stanley, and Nicolson files neither seemed to last very long. I was in need of a file and so I walked over to a Taylors Do It Center at lunch and picked up a 10" Mill Bastard file that was only marked Made in Mexico. I assumed that it was the same as a Nicolson file but the file isn't able to cut any of the steel I've tried it on right from the factory, that was a first for me. I'm currently giving Bahco files a try, the one I have was made in Portugal and cuts well for the time being. Time will tell how well it holds up. I'd hate to recommend them without being a long term user, but I'm comfortable saying stay away from Stanley and modern Nicolson files.

Sharpened up my old Fiskars Chopping Axe this evening as I will splitting up firewood here in the next couple of days. Got to touch up the head on my log splitter too.

My Sager had a few little dings from a spring camping trip, and I was in a honing mood, so I went at the bevels with the Baryonyx stones to smooth out all the file marks. It turned out great, and the little rolls/chips are almost gone. I love this thing...feels great, and super great steel.

I also sharpened up my little Norlund...

Along with most of my hatchets...although sharpening isn't really the right word. Honing and refining is more like it. But they all shave hairs and wood!

Sharpened the ole work hatchet this evening and a wing wedge that followed me home from the flea market a week or so ago. The wing wedge had a mushroom top that needed to be ground off and the edge was badly chipped

Sharpened a maul that has been sitting idle for about 3 years. Some with a bench grinder and hand file
