What folder do you hogs and piglets carry?

1st of all... pics! I gotta see that Lochsa with damascus.

2nd... I hate you. :p

Here are the three Lochsas I have:

randucci, that middle Lochsa looks so vivid in comparison to the other two, it almost looks like you photoshopped it!

Awesome blades!

Hinderer... Oops, the Q-ball anodized Firetac Extreme is a safe queen.

There isn't any way around that one. :D

Well, technically the court house I am at right now, no security what so ever. Just signs that say no weapons. They don't have a metal detector or wand anyone. So really, it is about the most dangerous place. Everyone is ticked at the prosecutor and judge, and no one to enforce the rule. It only means I don't have my gun or knives with me, because I won't break the law.

Nice folders guys. Here are the ones in my rotation. I do like to mix it up a bit. The lefty military is the newest and has been seeing the most pocket time lately. It's an amazing slicer and packs a lot of blade into a super light package. Wish I would have picked one up sooner.

Full size Benchmade Griptilian in 154CM and the orange handle. Hard to beat the AXIS lock system and a truely one handed ambidextrious knife.

I love the axis!!! the resistance is perfect in every aspect..

I have a Spyderco Para-Military in D2 and Green Foliage G-10 handle that I use for the delicate work.

I also edc my Boss Street which does a pretty good job on small branches, briars, ticks, doors, small armies :D

For those really tough situations at work I always keep my NMFBM within arms reach

My primary EDC folder is my FG Spyderco Manix PE. On occasion I will carry a Mini Grip instead.

I am really interested in picking up a small Sebenza and a ZT, but they aren't high enough on the priority list to pull the trigger right now.

Over the past several years, I used a variety of locking one-handed openers, ranging from a Benchmade 3100 Automite to a Zero Tolerance ZT0300DW. They were all capable blades but tended to raise eyebrows when brought out to play. So this year, I decided to conduct a little experiment and only carry slipjoints, specifically, these two:

edcslipjoints.jpg

The Ohta is a 3 3/4" overall length variation of the "Lanny's Clip" from Tony Bose, using a 2 7/8" blade with half-stop and exhibiting unbelievably detailed jigging on the dark brown bone scales. The fit, finish, and walk and talk have to be seen to be believed. The best adjective I can offer is "crisp".

The Nowland is a 3 1/2" overall length 5-blade Sowbelly with Clip main and auxiliary blades of Spey, Sheepsfoot, Pen, and another version of the Clip style. The main blade has a half-stop but the others don't. The scales are jigged green bone.

They are both made with ATS-34 blades and are as sharp as scalpels. The Nowland is flat ground while the Ohta has a large diameter hollow grind. I generally carry the Nowland whenever I am in jeans or utility pants and the Ohta when wearing slacks. If I am flying somewhere, I break out a SAK Tinker just in case someone at the airport gets sticky fingers.

In the five months since I started my experiment, I have yet to encounter a situation where I found I wanted one of the big boys instead of the slipjoints. They are also much less likely to attract any attention other than the occasional "Wow, that's a nice knife" comment.

Easy. I've been carrying this for the last 9 years because it's "nuclear tough". I can't break it! It's been in and through more than a pocket knife has any right to. Including a car door!

I typically rotate between a small sebenza 21, a 3 inch xm-18 flipper, and a Spyderco Caly 3. The Sebenza sees the most pocket time.

Yep, a handmade slipjoint is just... cool.

Umm ya me too. I EDC my ZT 301 to my car, during the car drive to work, take it off before I go in to work (teacher), clip it back on after work, and for the rest of night. It's a shame teachers can't carry knives on school grounds. I mean all the kids do. :D

I wondered about that upon reading your first post.... 'man, do they let him carry in school?'

The handle on the middle one is made from Timascus, that is why it has the colors. Only about (3) were made.

I'm more of a Dog than a Hog, but I find myself oinking from time to time. :D

I carry a Hinderer 3.5" XM-18 w/ CTS-XHP spanto ground, tumbled blade. Tumbled titanium frame as well.

These are some pics when it had only been carried for a few weeks. I got it back in late February. The G-10 scale is in rougher shape now as I have popped a few brews with it lately. :D
