What is one characteristic or spec from a manufacturer that disqualifies them for you

For folders, I can't do a hollow grind or a knife that gets in the way of me extracting my wallet from my pocket (so anything thicker and longer than a Southard AVO is out.)
I'll pass on non-stainless and softer steels and coated blades
Any knife w/ an MSRP of under $200 is pretty much off the table (with the exception of the Boker Plus Urban Trapper that I use when traveling)

This is really going to have a negative effect on knife sales...

I'm thinking I found the replacement for my Mora.

The Bradford Guardian 4, Wharncliffe with carbon fiber scales.

Think I'll call him up and order one, with the words "BFC Least Hated" etched into it for me.

Thank you all for keeping me from all those dreaded features, BTW. What a fantastic community this is.

Proprietary pivot and other hardware (where tool isn't provided with knife)

Spyder hole.....hate em

Me too but, I really do want one in my collection though because they work quite well. Function over beauty sort of thing.

My beef against Spyderco is that they all seem to take up to much pocket real estate but I have high hopes for the PM3.

If they would only offer something with an oval hole to lower the blade profile....

Knives made with less than 0.5% carbon content.
Actually I've been avoiding Kershaw as a whole when they made a turn for the worse a few years ago. The odd ZT comes up that looks nice but the brand is tarnished with a lot of substandard materials nowadays.

So anything with 420HC then?

There are lots of Spydies with a straight spine (no hump)! Give one a shot, I'd bet you like it! :D

I actually find the Spydie hole quite nauseating for some reason. Never understood why, probably never will.
