What is the largest knife you actually use?

I have a Schrade Old Timer lock blade knife that I bought many years ago. I carry it when working outdoors. It is handy for cutting small limbs, etc.

Of the knives I use regularly, these are probably the ones. 16.5, 14, 11, 10 centimeters.

If we exclude kitchen knives.

In general, I'm generally carrying at least one knife that has a blade in the 4 inch range, though most tend to be 3.25-3.50 inch range these days. I don't get out into nature much this past year or two, so there's not much chance for me to use any of my big chopping knives these days. In reality, all of my cutting needs could be accomplished with a 3-3.25 inch (much shorter and you get food in the pivot, no thanks) folding knife, but that doesn't stop me from carrying a fixed blade whenever I'm not in the office. A guy's gotta have standards, come on now.

The OP has a prejudice or something they specified no smatchets in their post.
Or they were bowing down to the utility of a smatchet over ordinary knifes...
his thread, so can do whatever wants, but I've almost used my Mike Wallace smatchet enough to qualify....in another half month easy met the specifications. so im calling mine the Wallace smatchet on this thread....rule breaking or not.

In 2002, I bought a Camillus Cuda Maxx, a licensed copy of the Darral Ralph designed Madd Maxx. This was a stiletto style flipper with a Titanium Fram lock . . .with a five and a half inch D2 blade. That was a pretty big knife for a folder and not really a pocketable kn life.

I never used it. Neither did the young Marine I gave it to. When he deployed to Iraq in 2004, he left it home and brought along knives with more utility.

The penalty phase will be announced soon.
