Ditto: My Kershaw "Black" Leek. Crazy, almost scary-sharp right out of the box. Considering I got it on sale at Amazon for only $35.00, well, durn, imagine that!!
All of my 30+ Spyderco's came very sharp, but the absolute sharpest of the bunch was the Khukuri. The only knives I've bought that came dull were a couple of Benchmade's. One was so bad I sent it in for re-sharpening under warranty and when it came back it still wasn't as sharp as my least-sharp Spydie.
Spyderco Swick2 in S30V and an Enzo Elver blade blank in D2. It makes sense to me that the best factory edges come on steels that do well with toothy edges as factory edges are almost all relatively coarse.
Spyderco Mule Team in S35VN. Hair popping sharp. I'm too old, shakey and eyesight limited to do any hair whittling, but think it probably could do some. Beautiful, even grinds, too.
My Sebenza and a few Spydercos have been the sharpest I ever got!
But the knife that really registered as "Wow, this thing is a lot sharper then I thought it would be...", was a very cheap chinese Rough Rider slipjoint! That knife really exceded my expectations in sharpness...
The sharpest out of the box factory knife I've ever recieved was probably a Kershaw SG2 blem that I got at the annual blemish sale. I bought two of them for a price so ridiculously low that if I mentioned it here you guys would probably hate me for a week! Out of my time accumulating knives I've found that the Kershaws that I have bought have been consistenly sharper than any other manufacturers knives that I own.
