What is your workhorse blade?

my scrapyard SOD takes on all duties with no fear...just today i had to use it to sharpen up an old tree stake.

New Koster's Bushcrafter. Not tested and tried yet - but she gets a lot of work.
TF

If I beg would you do a review. Still waiting on mine(#197 on the list:() to show up and want this to be my main fixed blade.

As for what's working for me right now; the Vic Farmer is by far and away my most used blade. For rough wilderness use, the Swamp Rat Howling Rat LM has taken everything I've thrown at it and just laughed. Bottom one in the pic.

Well then its gotta me my Leatherman e300. Its locks up Super-Solid and just feels great. I love that knife, its gone through everything. Ive just retired it though (a well deserved retirement), got me a Queen Stockman in D2.

As for my go to fixed blade: Mora Craftsman, probably will be taken over by my new Breeden 1-0.

Probably the Koyote Mini-nessie. I bought it on a whim, but it's proved to be quite the little workhorse. Of course I usually have a SAK handy too...

Gotta be the Koster Nessie. Love the SBT and the BHK Bushy as well, but this is the goto these days. Vic Farmer is always with me as well...

Uncle Henry Stockman. Been carrying it around since BOy Scouts and I still use it for most everything on a daily basis.

Mine are a bit simple compared to you guys :o

My go to fixed blade that has taken a beating is my Gerber Freeman Hunter, and my go to Folder is my Emerson Commander.

Both of these have been to hell and back and when I don't want to "ruin" or scratch my new knives, I'll go and grab these to do the dirty work

I gotta say, the emerson commander is what made me like liner locks after always distrusting them :)

Current workhorses or past? My EDC go to knife for the longest time was a Kabar Warthog folder, with a good ol USMC Kabar for field work. Then I got a Gerber LMF, which I used back and forth with the Kabar, and then about a month and a half ago I got a RC-5 and a Koyote Leuku within a week. Both of those have revolutionized bushcrafting and survival for me. I carry them in addition to my HEST and have taken care of my every need, you can't beat that trio. I have an Ontario Camp machete and a HB Forge Shawnee throwing hawk that take care of the real heavy stuff, both are soaked with years of sweat and blood and bear the marks of love and abuse.

Tough call !

In winter time I use my trusty Chopweiler almost every day to make kindling for my woodstove....

I guess my most trusted hiking knife is my JK Hiker....

But the one I have been carrying and using the most this past month or so is my little ML blade that I handled......

Sometimes I can't decide and take them both !!!!!

Well, I'm going to have to say that the one knife I've got that has gone the most places and done the most varied and interesting things with me is my Vic Tinker. Second is a knife my dad made for me that went many of those interesting places.

Tinker is retired, and I'm carrying a Soldier most of the time now.

Well I have a ton of Vic SAKs, they all get used all the time. 99% when I am off the beaten path, I have a custom SAK Woodsman built by Scibeer, and a Kershaw Minicyclone for folders.

I had been using my TAK-1 as my go to knife for a long time, moved to a RC-3 and love it. But I have to say, my go to blade for just about anything Would be my Gossman Kephart. I don't use it as much as I should, but if I only have one peice of steel on me, thats the one I want.

my three are breeden pathfinder, landi utility, and benchmade mini grip........

Well, out of all my knives I have to say this one, not my EDC SAK which I am never without but the one that always seems to find it’s way into my bag on onto my belt when I am certain I will actually be needing a knife. Not the fancy hand forged Damascus that poses on my belt when I’m on motorcycle adventures, oh, it may get used but it ain’t the one I grab and go, nor any of a dozen others, that may well be more solid an utilitarian but just don’t have the belt time or etched them selves in my mind as the go to blade that in one form or another has always found it’s way into my adventures on land or sea.

So without further ado I present Ye Old Ka-Bar.

I have an old Buck exactly like it that has a 50/50 chance of being grabbed.
