What is your workhorse blade?

For outdoors, my HI 20" CAK is my goto blade.

I'd have to say it's a toss up between my buck vanguard, my gerber multitool, and my utility knife... I do everything from prep dinner, to cutting plexiglas with them, and a few in between..

I guess it would have to be my Busse AD. It's been my edc for the past year.

From cutting cellophane to dismantling metal book cases it's run the gamete and just keeps on smiling.

For the outdoors my go-to blades are my Condor Viking and Bush Knife machetes, with my smaller knives being my RC-6, my RC-3, and my Mora 760. (My Condor Rodan has been getting a lot of use lately, but since I just got it we'll exclude it for now)

For EDC it's my Case "Bermuda green" swayback jack (which has opened more blister packaging than I dare think about) my RAT Izula, and either my Benchmade 530 or Spyderco ZDP-189 Delica (I switch between them).

I know that's a lot of them, and maybe more than the question intended, but I use those blades a LOT, even though I have many more I keep coming back to these ones. :)

The bottom one is my every day carry knife. At home ,around town, or in the woods it is my go to knife.

The top one, JK Hiker, also tags along in the woods, either in my pack or on my pack belt. But mostly I use my EDC.

For me it's a Victorinox Spirit multitool. That one gets more use and carry time than any bladed tool I have - at home, around town, traveling, or woods. It often gets paired with a dedicated cutter, but it is always there.

Fixed blade would have to be the Fallkniven H1

Kind regards

It's cool that you mentioned the H1, I just picked one up in Zytel pants... Very cool knife, but I haven't had it long enough to do anything with it. I may try and get some new pants for it, in Kydex with teklock (sp?) compatibility, down the road.

As for me, I'm, pretty much, a knife gypsy at the moment, but I try not to pack a knife that I'm not willing to depend on, given the uncertain nature of unplanned emergencies... If I were in the mood for a dependable, go-to blade, that H1 is a fantastic option.

Mentor, I really like your scandi as well. It kinda reminds of a Grohmann #3.
Very nice:thumbup:

I'd say my BHK large work horse, its in my pack or my glove box. My edc is either my leatherman surge or my kershaw needs work that I convexed to a scary sharp toothy edge.

My 4.5” Jim Stewart Custom in S30V sees the most use as a belt knife.

And this 7.5” KSF Custom Bowie sees the most use as a camp knife.
