What kind of folder do you carry?

"Did you ever see the black blade, black scales Dragon Knife he did OMG! I'd have given up a ton for that one."

Oh yeah, the black one is a black beauty. He's made three total, the black one and two with the colorful palettes. I love the black one, but will always go with these colors given the choice between the two. But Bertie Rietveld gets the most credit, fot the Dragon Skin on each one.

And as for Karrying the Krammes, not on your life! I've always thought it was crazy to buy highly differentally anodized pieces because one scratch and that's it! But some art, well, we both know you just look at and marvel!

Bob, he made 4! One more last year. It’s still for sale right now. I can give you a link if you want!

I already have this one, and found out after the fact it was on the back cover of Knives 2018, but thanks anyway. Email me the link, though, because I'd love to compare it, there being differences in each.

I think it’s pretty neat it’s on the back cover as well. I have every edition back to 2008 I believe.

Done. Enjoy!

that Krammes is fucking sick. Hanson ain't too shabby neither

Those jewels, the ones which Bob posted... Were they knives?! I thought that they were Faberge Eggs :P

What's nice about those pieces is that they constitute more art than knife. If I had two collections separated by a firewall, one side would contain art, one would be knives. Forgettting that this is about folders, I am not at all sure which side a Shiv, for instance, would occupy. The art is in the design. So perhaps in it's case, both. I doubt I would ever really carry any folder that was so non-utilitarian that I would be concerned about scratching it.

I think, perhaps for my 40th I’ll buy something in the Krammes level and carry it from day one. Perhaps I’ll get on the books somewhere.

Shiro CDs that are made to be carried are as far as I’ve gone.

Collecting really fine folders, whether you use them or not, is a fcking madness. I caution anyone I speak with to concentrate on fixed blades, not folders. Folder collecting becomes a disease once it gets out of hand (it did for me, lol). It's ok if one can contol the urge, but I always had great difficulty doing just that. If I could have just one great one..................(then another, then another, then another, etc, lol).

I have more discipline and self control than a self-immolating monk!

^ now with that self-assured statement, you're clearly in need of some serious help and intervention :D

I struggle to use the knife the moment they crossed the $1k limit :D I am very tempted to get another GTC but I could not pull the trigger. I know I cannot put myself to carry or use it. I “try” not to buy anything which I dare not use these days

Plus strategically places Shiro bling-boings ;)

I thought that you didn't care much for that Mayo Dr. Death iteration?

Oh look at that! Just happened to be at my desk. They have been there for a few weeks, waiting on a shelf and a microscope to measure bevels. That's a whole different story. I have like 15 knives on my desk at the moment waiting for something.

I'm not in love with the Dr. Death. This one is just a visitor, it's going home soon!

Austin is still carrying Mark's folder every day. And has used it hard! And it has zero issues after 6 months of hard use and abuse on a construction crew and farm life. He curs wire, strips coatings, punctures pipe, cuts carpet, lumber, strapping, and on and on... I tell him he should use a snips or other tools at times, and he always says, why? This is whats in my pocket...
