Very nice. These Aluminum scales ?
Thank you, and sorry I missed your question Roland. Yes they are aluminum with Cerakote.

Clearly the fault of the fruit!

:) Was a good pear. I'm just too used to putting my index finger on the spine of a small knife.

The MT however, after I washed the blade yesterday, stopped working. It's OK now. Anybody want to look inside, here you go:

Lesson for the future: if the blade doesn't fully retract, pull it out until it locks. And keep it wet/oiled inside.

For reference and going forward for much easier and quicker maintenance… Microtech recommends the use of Rem-Oil in the aerosol can to lube and maintain the knife. Just spray in the REM-Oil inside the knife slot while it’s retracted, actuate it a few times, turn upside down and drain out what you can, spray canned air while knife is upside down ish , and wipe the knife and handle clean.

I personally haven’t taken any of my MT OTF’s apart yet, as the REM-Oil trick works really slick (no pun intended), it’s quick and easy. I’ll pull them apart at some point, but for now their recommendation has worked well for me.
