Very cool! Never seen that before. What steel is the blade?

Pretty sure the knife was a freebie giveaway. To be honest, I was surprised to find the G&G Hawk design on it when I opened it up today for the pics!
It’s no Deadlock, but still pretty cool!

I don’t really have a dog in the fight but that was my thought as well…Anyone else think the busse folder is just a little......I don't know.....underwhelming? For close to the same price I can think of several proven folders that use a "better" blade steel than AEB-L and that seem to have more "finishing" done.
It's similar to most of the bolt lock derivatives, but it's REALLY close to the functionality of the Ram Safe Lock in the Cold Steel "Pocket Bushman"... just with the lockbar being shortened and the spring moved forward, using a thumbstud release instead of pulling back at the butt of the lockbar. The wedging between the tang and the inside of the frame is identical, with a machined billet Ti frame instead of a folded steel clamshell.Anyone else think the busse folder is just a little......I don't know.....underwhelming? It’s so thin. I expected an overbuilt fill the hand kind of folder. Also that choil takes away so much cuttings edge. I think for under $200 I might have tried it out. But for $600 ! Learned that bit about OTFs within the first day of owning that cheap Taiwanese OTF, back in middle school.:

Lesson for the future: if the blade doesn't fully retract, pull it out until it locks. And keep it wet/oiled inside.

“Man! So cool!” *snick* *snick*.
“This is awesome!” *snick* *snick*
“I wonder how much this thing will penetrate if I fire the blade while holding it against something. Hmmm… lemme try it with this cardboard box…” *snick* rattle rattle. “Crap… I think I broke it…”
The blade just slid in and out as I tilted the knife. Button didn’t do anything.
“Well… crap…”
Pushing the blade in didn’t work.
Pulled on the blade and heard and felt a click. *snick* *snick*. “Ah… it’s not broken. Must be some kind of safety to protect the mechanism”.
I had the same thoughts. I hate large choils. It’s so thin. I expected an overbuilt fill the hand kind of folder. Also that choil takes away so much cuttings edge. I think for under $200 I might have tried it out. But for $600 ! I’m out.
Two new ones for my small Queens collection. ATS34 on the left, Peter's D2 in the middle. BF knife included for scale.

Their bayonet grind would be perfect for you. This is why I don't have daggers .... not the knife's fault, of course.
It was a little more expensive than what I was hoping. For that price, I can think of a lot of other knives that I would rather have. But it seems like a lot of Busse fans will be happy.Anyone else think the busse folder is just a little......I don't know.....underwhelming?
