What knife can you not bring yourself to like?

Next one for me is Benchmade 710. Not because recurve blade, but because handle is too wide near axis lock and pivot screw. In Benchmade perfect shape of the handle and blade thumb ramp is in old Stryker.

It's all mental, but I have a hard time liking anything that's made in Taiwan, China, etc... I know that quality products come out of Taichung for Spyderco, and I have owned some. Although great blades that I loved, I just couldn't mentally get over where it's made.
Which I feel is stupid. It's all in my head. I guess my issue is I remember all the garbage knives I had growing up from Taiwan and can't get past that.
Yup i feel the same. The sad part is alot of companies have really well thought designs but are made everywhere but in America. Crkt being one in particular that really hurt... thought the big m21 was my dream edc, then found out it was made in china and a piece of crap.

Being a business major i understand the reason behind outsourcing but come on, i see no reason knives(or anything else) cant be made affordable here and made by Americans.

Emerson designs, overpriced ZT Hinderer knives, and all strider knives, all over rated and overpriced IMO. My CS Voyager can do anything those knives can and with a better lock up system, and I don't care what fancy new PM steel the knives come with, AUS8A is proven, reliable steel, most people think they need elmax and m390 to cut card board, sure they are nice to have. Ill stick with my 50.00 Voyager :)

Emerson designs are nice but overpriced for that fit, finish and materials. For some people it's important that they're made in USA. For me it's not big deal where it's made while it's made properly.

I carry often exactly CS Voyager too. And I'm glad they put better steel into it now. :)

I don't know what it is maybe it's because I haven't handled many, but I've never been able to bring myself to like most TOPS or Strider knives. Something about the geometry and probably price, (guess I'm a skinflint!) make it hard for me to like them

Kershaw cryo. Been carrying it for 2 months now putting use on it and i don't like how you never "feel" like you have a good grip and I have to sharpen it just about every weekend depending on the abuse I put the poor useless thing through! I want to love it because it looks awesome and I got it under 30$ new but I just can't..

I'll confess, the reason for its popularity completely elludes me. Small, heavy, awkward and slippery it's always struck me as an absolute abortion of a knife. I like many of the Hinderer/KAI collabs, but I am seriously puzzled by the love the Cryo gets. I see it recommended all the time and plenty will rave about it, but I can't help but think there are dozens, if not hundreds, of better options for the price.

One word, seven letters, starts with an S, ends with an A.

"Tactical" folders. Tanto folders. Folders with clips that give point up carry (I worry blade may open some, causing a sliced finger or three) knives with pocket clips in general, butterfly knives, and switchblades. I guess I'm more of a traditional knife guy, and yes, I know the switchblade and butterfly are a traditional knife, I just don't care for them - or the muskrat/trapper pattern, either, for that matter.

Although TOPS Knives may have a few (ok a lot!) of wonky blade designs and edge geometry, and I have only ever seen one of there knives fail, and that was an Alaskan Harpoon being used to batton some seasoned wood Adam from Equip2Endure was using, must have been a bunk heat treat on that one, that blade came out looking like a twist tie on a bag of doughnuts that Rosie O'Donnell annihilated. I own two TOPS, both Trace Rinaldi designs, the Armageddon, (1095) and the DART (5160), both knives are TANKS. I do believe TOPS hit a homer with the BOB knife, seems to sell well and has gotten great reviews, although I do prefer my bush crafting blades to be smaller than the BOB.

For some reason I don't really understand I just can't bring myself to like the Benchmade Barrage. I had a 580 during my assisted opening phase, but I decided I didn't like the coated blade or plastic handles, so I sold it. When the 581 came out I got one of them with a satin blade. Then I got over assisted opening, so I de-assisted it. The aluminum bolsters were the next thing that rubbed me the wrong way, so I got some of the full G10 scales from Knives Ship Free and added a titanium deep carry clip. Now that I've changed everything I didn't like about it, I still don't carry it. It's the perfect size for me, the grip is comfortable, the blade shape is usable, and the quality is great. I just have other similar sized knives I like better. One of these days I should get a gold membership and throw it on the exchange, but for some reason I haven't been able to bring myself to sell it yet.

I left you a visitor message. We should chat.
