What knife can you not bring yourself to like?

Benchmade, any Benchmade. I just cannot get into their knives. I have owned a few, but sell them pretty soon after.

Opinels look horrible to me, I would never buy one. I have nothing against Kershaws but I've only owned two and I gave one away. I wouldn't consider buying anything by Rough Rider or Taylor, United Cutlery etc.

It's all mental, but I have a hard time liking anything that's made in Taiwan, China, etc... I know that quality products come out of Taichung for Spyderco, and I have owned some. Although great blades that I loved, I just couldn't mentally get over where it's made.
Which I feel is stupid. It's all in my head. I guess my issue is I remember all the garbage knives I had growing up from Taiwan and can't get past that.

My microtech socom delta. I wanted to like this knife so badly. It would be an awesome knife if it were not for all the problems. It came to me slightly off center, which isn’t the biggest deal, but over time it has shifted so much it now rubs against the scale. The detent sucks too. I can shake the blade out with little force. Like I said, it would be a great knife but it has too many issues.

99% of spyderco knives. I have the sub hilt & a kriss and would like to get the new brend.collaboration, aside from that wouldn't take em for free.

OK, I'm not meaning to insult anyone. I just cannot appreciate these knives or types of knives.

Cold Steel Espada or anything similar - ie any large bladed and/or heavy folder
ESEE Laser Strike
Any Tanto bladed knife
Pretty much any knife more than ~$400

I'm sure many people like these knives or are willing to make/buy them, but they're just not my cuppa tea.

+1

And anything built with the concept of form over function.

When I look and hold an Emerson in hand it grinds my gears...Then I look at the price and it reassures my decision on them.

I'm guilty of it with watches and other shit I get into, but if you're re-buying the same knife you hate 3 times it may be you're on an endless chase where you will never be satisfied.

The only thing that helped me with watches was to step away from the hobby for a time and enjoy what I have for a bit.

I'm gonna get some haters for this, but I have yet to see a Zero Tollerance that makes me want to grab my wallet and buy it, I just don't like them. I have to be fair and say I haven't held one yet, but it really doesn't matter how they feel if I don't like the way they look. Brad.

Anything with a handle too short for a decent 4-finger grip, no matter how short the blade.

Honestly I cant hate on your comment because I havent always like the zero tolerance or kershaw lines. But I will say I am rather surprised nothing they make is at least attractive to you. I find their product line to be more diverse than it ever has been. And even at times when I was really out of ZT there were still models here or there that I wouldnt dislike. To each their own i guess. I know I see people ogling over striders, direwares and carrillos and I am left scratching my bald head so we all have those brands that just dont click. But to be perfectly transparent I would be lying if I said elements of the ownership of a company or its fanbase didnt have a negative impact on my ability to like a knife.

Won't hate on you for not liking ZT. Everyone has they're own taste and preference, and that's why there are so many options.
I do agree 100% that if a knife has no visual appeal, I won't give it a second look, no matter how good it may be.

I own and love 3, with plans to get more. I've carried ZT more than any other brand for over a year.

...and I still can't find fault with your point of view. You're right that "you" (universal, understood to not be absolute) aren't likely to carry something you don't like the looks of. I ran into that with a Manix 2. Absolutely incredible in hand. Great user. Ugly. I no longer own it.

If ZTs don't crank your motor, I absolutely respect your choice to go different directions, sir.
