What knife makes the best sound?

this one makes a sound like a shotgun slide i think.

junkyard dog composite.

The blade on my large Manix makes a substantially louder sound when it locks into place than either of my Spyderco Military models.

For an auto, Halo 3

I'll second the CS Gunsite. I opened it in my kitchen during a party to show a friend and the room suddenly got quiet.

The Kershaw Blur tanto blade, I carry that in Law Enforcement. Like someone else on here said, it sounds like a damn shotgun... Pull that knife out and open it, people will run. It scared me the first time I opened it. Kershaw makes a great sounding knife. Besides the sound, the knife is wicked... That is the most popular knife of all the law enforcement guys I know. Most carry two!

My well-used Buck 110. It's a good solid click that can't be mistaken for anything else.

SOG Sogwinder, first folder w/ thumb studs that I ever owned, purchased over 20 years ago. It is a lockback, and gives a huge 'pop' when opened. DDR trigger, my current EDC is very rhythmic. It gives off three successive clicks when opened that happen very quickly thanks to the pivot bearing.

I am probably just different, but for legitimate original distinct sound.

Buck 110. the handle mass, the blade profile and size, just make for a really distinct snap.

If i had to compare it to something (forget the shock effect) its about as distinct as say a pump-action,over a lever, bolt . Too many thin light blades sandwiched inside this or that super handle material they all kinda twang the same to me depending on locking mechanism,, the buck 110 type lock-backs distinct. JMH 2₵

Out of my small collection;

Best modern folder opening; my Spyderco Manix FG, a solid, reassuring *THWACK!*
Best modern closing; Spyderco Pacific Salt, a solid "klak" that you can hear and feel

Worst modern folder opening and closing; Byrd Wings, don't get me wrong, it's a great knife, versatile, solidly built, and a great way to compactly carry both a SE and PE in an absolute minimum of pocket space, it's liner locks just have no *oomph* to them, a quiet, halfhearted "snik" on opening, and a near silent "tak" on closing

Best Traditional opening and closing (slipjoint); Victorinox SwissChamp, it has a brilliantly crisp opening click and a strong closing snap, they have a crisper walk-and-talk than my more expensive Case and Boker slippies (Case Trapper, Med. Stockman, and Peanut, Boker Whittler)

Best Traditional locking knife; Buck 110, crisp opening click, and a very unique closing Klakk

Well at least someone agrees. :)

I think we were posting at the same time. My 110 is about as easy to open one-handed as any of my tacticals are. With the bushing Buck uses at the blade pivot, it's literally silent until the lock engages.

On another note, the sound my old M7 bayonet makes as it settles into it's sheath is a very nice, solid 'SNICK', kind of like the old true stillettos. That's my favorite.
