What knife slowed you down the most?

This Dozier after carrying a Military for 18 months.

ESEE Junglas for large blades. Quite frankly, there isn't much better out there for large choppers without spending $500+.
Fixed blades was my Riverside Woodlore and Winkler Hunting knife (after much edge reprofiling). Though I'm on the lookout for a good stacked birch puukko.
Folders, I'm pretty content with my Boker Camp Knife and Microtech SOCOM. There are other folders I'd love to get, but I'm very reluctant to drop the $500+ on them.

It took me 4 years to work of the desire to buy another chopper. That has to do with my relatively recent change of taste from high tech/modern to more traditional looking blades. Also a bit of narcissism, I found that everyone appreciates a classic looking knife (young and old, men and women, knife knuts and normies). The beauty of modern/tactical knives is lost on most non-knuts.

At first this one:

Then this one:

But oddly enough I think this one pretty killed my folder hoarding for a good while. I havnt considered another folder since carrying it. A 5.5" clip point with a super strong lock and light enough for gym shorts, it can pretty much do anything.

I think I see where you re going with this. Is this a progression or regression? Just kidding. That Cold Steel is an impressive knife.
While I normally don t care how people react to my knife when I open it to use it, I d like to see the reaction to that knife when you pull it out in a group of people.
That knife fascinates me.[/QUOTE]

Haha as much as I don't care what people think, I am discreet where I thwack out the voyager. I have gotten a " ok crocodile Dundee" before, then they were like "dang that's a sweet knife."

I'm with you on the Bad Monkey, I did promptly buy a Spider Monkey for work but didn't make another purchase for a couple months (Dua)

I wish i could find one to make me stop buying more..it's getting ridiculous lol within the last month it's been 4 pm2 exclusives, a gso4.1, microtech limited edition spatan, and a 20cv hinderer xm18 3.5 that'll be in the mail tomorrow...and been looking at a couple CRK's and a adv trailboss i really want...

For folders: Small Sebenza 21

Fixed: Bark River Bushcrafter

I've had the Bushcrafter for a couple of months and I still feel it's my perfect fulltang outdoors knife.. The Sebenza I've had for more than 2 years and it killed all desires for any(including CRK's) other folder. Will I ever buy another knife? Yes I probably will, but these two great knives slowed me down really good.

I can't associate my stops with particular knife purchases...I just wake the **** up one day, and stop buying. (I've tried to force that decision from time to time; but it lasts longer when it happens on its own.)
My only recent purchase was a couple of (BHQ) M4 PM2s...and that was only because I'd been waiting so long, and I knew they wouldn't be available if I waited. I actually have a fair bit of buyer remorse over them; but I figure I'll get over that eventually.

My second custom division shirogorov slowed me down quite a bit. Flawless knives and perfect for me, but also just about tapped out my checking account.

Only thing that's seriously tempted me lately is checking out a Rockstead.

I haven't bought anything since I bought three versions of the CKF Morrf. I'm sure I'll get an itch eventually, but I love the Morrf design and quality so much that it's going to take something pretty special to motivate me.

I love the CKFs and the fancier show blades, but for lower cost beater work knives, I accidently got myself a ZT 801 for a project. I hated the look and size of this knife so much, but hey, it was a new knife, might as well carry it to get a feel for it. The stupid ZT801 is legit my favorite knife to have on me. It's so glass smooth and broad and I learned to ignore the weight since I don;t carry anything else in that pocket. It stopped me from buying low end work knives.. so much so that I got myself another and one of the special editions.. so maybe not "stopped"
they make interesting ano practice projects, too. Never come out nice, but help me to learn

My post Blade Show lull ended over the weekend with a Case/Bose wharncliffe trapper purchase. You gotta ease back into it after making multiple purchases at once. Happy wife, happy life.

I feel ya man! I started downsizing at the beginning of the year, to get into some custom builds and try out some higher end production models. Yet I've probably replaced most of what I've gotten rid of! I've skipped past CRK and Rockstead in the process, but will likely grab one of each eventually. Oh its a sickness, but fun!

Yea I've attempted downsizing as well...I've gotten rid of almost every thing sub $100, and some of my production duplicates..(bad habit of buying 2 of one's i really like) fixed blades I'm kinda appeased with at the moment thou i want a few more.. folders are my current poison...which sucks bc up until 6 months ago i wasn't really interested in folders much. Now I'm hooked on both lol

I'm in the habit of buying duplicates of my favorite knives as well. A user and a safe queen. The only "problem" is that my tastes have been evolving and gravitating toward more expensive blades (expensive in my opinion). But that hasn't even given me a moment's pause. Even though it probably should. So I guess it's not a problem after all.

My Medford TFF1 was in my pocket 24-7 for a year...still love it but my 2 month old XM-18 Skinner is my every day cutter for now.

Yea tell me about it...ive been trying to get back ups to my gso 5, 6, and 10 but damn they go for a premium when they pop up...

These two Shiros have certainly given me pause. I've been working more this year and have had a few good jobs in a row, so, feeling flush, I've been going kinda crazy buying this that and the other. I sold my Sukhoi wanting to put that money toward my first Shiro and, along the way, while buying a knife for my son, I bought a Seb 25 off the same guy like it was nothing. The first Shiro gave me a huge itch for a second and I picked up the 111.

With those two in hand I just said "Whoa boy," and am actually feeling kinda satisfied with with everything I've got from $35 beaters through my Bucks, Spydies, BMs, ZTs, CRKs, others, and on up to these two. I've got a different sweet knife or user I can pocket on any day, my high-end itch is pretty well satisfied, and I'm sorta in a calm spot now.

You know how it goes, though--there's 2 or 3 I've been seeking for a while to fill some holes in the collection, and a 2-knife project I've had in mind, and, you know, a Neon would fit with those other two bears real nicely. Sigh….
