What knife slowed you down the most?

My psyche will not allow me to carry just one knife so it has been the ZT 0452CF and the ZT 0450CF. I have now gone 10 days without buying another knife...but I have been looking for presents for my Brother. I have some Gulf Front property far from the Gulf (SE Louisiana flood of 2016) for sale as well.

Hoback Kwaibacks.

It started out as one and has mutated into one of every design. Jake is an awesome guy who offers truly exceptional customer service and the knives themselves are all excellent as well. Killed off my entire collection except these.

I've been carrying this one for six months now, and it's stopped my folder buying cold.

I have bought a few fixed blades since, though.:)

Spyderco Pacific salt put an end to my search for the perfect EDC folder for my needs.

Has had a privileged place in my pocket every single day for the last 2 years now.

Beach, work, home, Holidays, around town...carried it everywhere, worked and performed every time.

I've bought, traded, tried and carried others in the other pocket, but it's remained there as my "the one" during this time

This has been the last big purchase for me in many months. Aegis Knifeworks Hoplite. Nothing else really on the horizon since purchasing this one.

I carried a Zaan for about two yrs. Nice knife. CRK's are easy to like; also carried a large Classic Sebbie for two yrs...sold it like a dummy.
The last two yrs I'm using a Brad Southard AVO, which I prefer for various reasons...

Normally depends on how much it sets me back, but budget tends to go out the window if I go to the knife shop.

And for how long?

I bought an umnum about 3 weeks ago and haven't seriously considered another purchase since. Haven't carried anything else either which is odd for me. I even passed on some good deals on the exchange for knives that are on my running "wish list".

This can't last, right?

What usually slows me down is: -Paying for more classes. -Prioritizing metal detecting between spring and fall. -Trying to rationalize another toy when it would serve the same use as another half dozen in its size category. I seem to be a winter buyer when other outdoor activities become weather restricted. I still sneak the odd lust buy in here and there mainly to appease the desire for a new toy.

For me, this one has; not ashamed to say due to cost/budget reasons. Bought it beginning of May this year and I am not planning anything new until mid-fall, early winter. Had several planned expenses this year so hobby money is short. This is “hobby money saving time” for me :).

Honestly, anyway, I limit my purchases to 3, maximum 4 knives/year. Sometimes less or even none if, for example, I buy other outdoor gear or gun related items. Mainly for cost/budget reasons but I find this also allows me to really enjoy my knives practically in different scenarios along the year, from hiking/camping activities to plain EDC :). I also like researching around my potential or real knives acquisitions before buying and after I have bought them (origin, manufacturing, technologies, materials, tests, etc.) and learn how to best use and maintain them. I am happy I am able to really ponder all my purchases, knives related or not :).

I bought my first Spyderco Military about a year and a half ago and haven't bought a knife since.... Until today XD!!!!

It's more been finances that slowed me down. Since joining bf, I've owned so many knives, but the most recent purchase was a Southern Grind Spider Monkey, over a year ago.

I've been hemming and hawing over a new flipper though. As a gift for all the medical bull I'm going through, my mother is buying me a Bailey Mod 2 geek flipper. Just waiting for the check. Being jobless for the next year as I wait for and recover from a liver transplant, it and one new production knife will have to last.

Hey, all the best to you, K.O.D., for a successful procedure and a full and speedy recovery. Here's hoping you'll be back working and squandering your hard earned dollars again on more knives than you need!

Well as of right now at this exact point in time, I would say these. I know as soon as I end up getting another blade, I'll kick out one or two of these and have that new one added into the group.

I don't think there is any slowing my wants down. I know there isn't a "need" for anymore. These blades are very capable and versatile but who doesn't enjoy trying new knives?

I would also agree with some others in here that having the finances is the biggest concern for me. I could choose to get several knives a week but I tend to only buy ones that I can get a good deal on.

My SnG & Emerson Mini A-100. My Seamus Knives Cracked Uber was my EDC for 4 years. It is and has always been smooth. It also has a Stellite 6K blade. It is a schaweeeet knife.

Well, I have yet to buy anything, but have been tempted a few times. Getting slightly twitchy. Feels like just a matter of time now.

i know the feeling well, Bilbo. nice umnum by the way--i've always admired that one even more than the seb

Thanks man. It's my favorite by far. Unfortunately, it did give me the desire for another CRK. Was thinking of a 21 large insigno.

I forced myself to pocket my PM2 tonight. My other knives were looking lonely.
