What knife would you like to see next from CPK?

Yep, or something like a HDFK 2 or XL with an extra 1" or 2" section of blade in the middle. And a slightly wider blade. With a "Bad Motherfucker" option.

By far my favorite fixed blade knives of all time. My Chris Reeve Nyala is collecting dust because I found an EDC3 years ago.

The Nyala is one of my favorite fixed blades, sounds like I may need a EDC

Isn’t that the medium chopper ?? It’s wider and longer than the HDFK. HDFK is 7.75 inch blade - medium chopper is 10”. Good news - it’s been made. Bad news not being released at the moment.

I took the belt loop off the sheath for the DEK1, and I carry it in my right front pocket every day, all day. By far my favorite knife of all time. It only sticks out a little.

So, clearly I would be in on buying an EDC new run. I would be in for sure. Perhaps in Magnacut or aeb-l? I won't chop with it. Blade length about 3.5 inches and pointy? (I have never seen an EDC, only the pictures).

For a knife to be useful, it must be carried.

I am kind of against folding knives. Why carry a folder when you can carry a CPK fixed blade? Folders would be a diversion.

I agree with a comment I read up above. This is not a democracy. Let the captain of the ship decide.

Some good points. But your pockets must be bigger than mine if you're carrying a DEK in one.

I love my EDC2 and have said here before that it is my one essential CPK knife. I carry it a lot. But there are plenty of times where even a smaller fixed blade knife in a sheath on a belt loop does not work for me. When I'm wearing "gym" shorts, for example - which I do a lot during summer. When I'm out shopping, going into Costco, the local grocery store, etc. Folks around here in suburban soccer-mom-ville can get freaked out by the sight of a knife and sheath on a dude's belt. Also doesn't really work for me when I'm in a suit and tie at a client meeting.

But a pocket knife ALWAYS works.

Anyway, I hope you manage to snag a CPK EDC someday because in hand they are even better than the pictures. Good luck!

Naw - I don’t like the DEK - plus they have stated the handle is build for defensive purposes and not necessarily for what you would use a field knife for.

Plus I like the look of the HDFK. So just shrink it - also remove the choil.

Choil is primarily for sharpening. You’d regret not having it

You right 6.5.

Basic field knife is 5” - FK2 is 4.5.
