I didn't react because when you know, you know
There is always a comparison to CRK, and how much better that cuts. I guess Rick only made Fatty Spantos. The much bigger choice of Hinderer patterns, thicknesses, blade-lengths, washer mechanisms, etc., is typically conveniently ignored. Say, for example the Fulltrack, has no CRK parallel. I like both, BTW, for us it's good to have choices.
It's known as the thumb actuation frustration protrusionCRK thumbstud (or whatever they call it) sucks big time there you have my verdict. I know I said not so good things about RHK folders just now but if I'm pressed to pick one between the two, it would be RHK all day long.

I have to agree. I bought a 20.5 just to try out the Shark lock. It's a great knife and the lock does have a lot going for it but I hate the way the fin falls directly under my thumb in a saber grip. It's not comfortable. I'll keep the 20.5 but I'll never buy another Shark lock knife most likely.I guess I have to say I cannot love the shark lock. It is exactly where I don't want it to be. Too far back for a thumb ramp and the point of the lock release is exactly under my thumb pad. It's really the only thing keeping me from owning one. The Spyderco comp lock is slightly better for me, but the annoying cutout can be a hot spot for me on some models.
How can anybody with any self respect follow that!?! Too damn funny!Maybe they can heat treat their blades in an Easy Bake Oven.
I can understand people collecting something but it goes beyond that with GEC. There’s a tremendous amount of “hype” mainly because flippers buy a lot of them and control the market which leads to bloated pricing on the secondary market and that has essentially become the “going rate”. I don’t have anything against GEC knives or people that collect them. I’ve handled a ton of them and they’re fine for factory prices but they’re not worth near the prices a lot of people end up paying for them. It’s a shame that people who truly appreciate them generally have to pay such a high markup.Interesting it's exactly like I think of CRK...collecting essentially the same thing with slightly different embellishments, even down to the Date of Birth card! Gotta love 'em, everybody does, and don't lose that card!
Ty Warner is one of the wealthiest people here in Santa Barbara so not a bad thing business wise and very popular. But I'm more over CRKs than the BBs when my kids were into them...
CRK thumb studs aren’t that bad. Even so, the Mnandi which has no thumb stud is the best knife they make anyway and one of the best folders in general. RHK Firetacs are almost criminally underrated. People tend to blur the lines between the manufacturers and one of the many knives they make.CRK thumbstud (or whatever they call it) sucks big time there you have my verdict. Before we continue further, I should disclose my enjoyment of RHK knives. I might have a couple....View attachment 2925916
Second on the Firetac, it's my favorite!CRK thumb studs aren’t that bad. Even so, the Mnandi which has no thumb stud is the best knife they make anyway and one of the best folders in general. At least that. At that price tag one would be pissed if wasn't the case... considering the price it should do your dishes too.One of the things I like about CRK is that I can drop my magnacut sebenza in my yard and someone a millenia from now might find it. They could clean it up and sharpen it up and potentially put it to use, say while the battery on their pocket lightsaber is charging.
There aren't many things with moving parts you can say that about.
Harpoon blades Y/N?
Yes please over here.
