What knives do you absolutely not like or not understand the hype? I'll go first.

I dont really like rosecraft knives. I mean, they seem okay for what they are and the with and finish is better than what I see case putting out these days but I think the blade stock os a bit thick and they feel like chunks when tossed in the pocket. I ordered a few once and some showed up with play, time will tell if they stick around or decide to produce with a quantity over quality state of mind, but me personally im not going to rush out and buy anymore.

They’ve become the beanie babies of the knife world. People pay outrageous prices for them because they heard it’s the thing to do.

Interesting it's exactly like I think of CRK...collecting essentially the same thing with slightly different embellishments, even down to the Date of Birth card! Gotta love 'em, everybody does, and don't lose that card!

Ty Warner is one of the wealthiest people here in Santa Barbara so not a bad thing business wise and very popular. But I'm more over CRKs than the BBs when my kids were into them...

It's not that. Ergos aren't anything special, neither is the lock.

It's just not worth that money... unless you buy them to collect or sell them down the road...

I like simple things. None of my knives are flippers or flashy or newest steel.
What I carry - S35VN Recon 1 tanto and 1095 ESEE Izula.
Nothing new, flashy, or flippy.

One of the things I like about CRK is that I can drop my magnacut sebenza in my yard and someone a millenia from now might find it. They could clean it up and sharpen it up and potentially put it to use, say while the battery on their pocket lightsaber is charging.
There aren't many things with moving parts you can say that about.

I have the Zero Tolerance 0452CF. I love the shape of the blade and knife in general, plus it is big. But it is very hard to open one-handed. You have to be EXTREMELY careful so that you don't put pressure on the scales; otherwise it jams the mechanisms and does not flip open. Believe me, it doesn't take much pressure. You have to hold the knife very loosely between your thumb and fingers in your hand to flip it open. I absolutely don't like that. A friend of mine has the same knife and same problem.

You've got learn the way to open it properly. I have/had 6 or 7 ZT 0452's and I'd rank it as one of the best ti flipper models ever made by KIA or any other manufacturers

OP started it with Hinderer and I'm surprised that not much discussion of this brand thereafter in this thread. For the past two or three years my folder interest basically has turned solely to RHK. I agree with the OP but to me it's like an addiction that cannot be gotten rid of easily for whatever reason. I mean a $400+ knife with a G10 show side, probably only Rick Hinderer can trick people to buy it. Also, most RHK folders are everything buy a cutter/slicer.

The knife has a lot to love! But when you need to get it out in a hurry, you don't want to have it fall out of your hands because you have to wrestle with the knife to get it open. I can open it with precision, but I still consider it a design flaw.

Luckily RH makes a $300 Ti scale for ya!

I didn't react because when you know, you know ;)

There is always a comparison to CRK, and how much better that cuts. I guess Rick only made Fatty Spantos. The much bigger choice of Hinderer patterns, thicknesses, blade-lengths, washer mechanisms, etc., is typically conveniently ignored. Say, for example the Fulltrack, has no CRK parallel. I like both, BTW, for us it's good to have choices.

Before we continue further, I should disclose my enjoyment of RHK knives. I might have a couple....PXL_20250715_003833117.jpg
