What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Charlie, that is a very sweet Case Barlow; I've never seen one like it; thanks for showing it.:thumbup:

Tom, great photos! Hope you saved your allowance for the sheepfoot models! :)

Thanks for the nice words fellows. Jack are the sheepfoot models going to have the TC bolster on them?

Yes Tom, like Blaine said; these are more Barlows in the same frame as before, Charlie C.'s (Waynorth) pet project. The next run will be the sheepfoot models and later the razor style will be out. Charlie tells us he will release them at the GEC Rendezvous later this month. GEC is releasing a similar 'boys knife' in easy open configuration about the same time and it should be another fine knife, but of course the "Charlows" will probably be in high demand. JMHO

Deep Blue? boy howdee thats my favourite colour!

I got the blues 'cause I don't have a Blue Barlow!!

But I am here to tell all you guys who want to find a nice, older, traditional Barlow to carry around that you can still find 'em!!
This one came in the mail today - from the 'Bay. Cost considerably less than a new single blade!!
A bit of ink on the blade is all . . . . . . . .;)

Took this beside the creek on May 10th and somehow failed to post it. Great Barlow; it has been my most carried summertime knife this year.

It's a conspiracy I tell ya! Everytime I look for them all I find are knives with broken scales and blades that looked like they were sharpened by a drunk monkey on the sidewalk. All for a low "Buy It Now" price of $99.99.

Charlie, its interesting that it does not have the Ulster Barlow stamp on the bolster? It sure is a pristine specimen.

Actually a good friend alerted me to that one, Christian.
It's a salesman's knife Jeff! It really does have ink on the blade!!
Nice pic, jazub!!

I was the proud owner of this vintage Keen Kutter for a while, then regrettably traded it one day... :(

The price tag says $3.00

That is a Crime Charlie.... well not really its only a crime because I didn't see it - wow that is a beauty, good score there.

Barry, that Keen Kutter was absolutely lovely - my friend just so you know you aren't alone - I shudder when I think of the knives I have let go :(
