What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Really cool Barlow.
But that blade seems more of a Wharncliffe than a Lambsfoot... what say you?

There’s something about that blade that definitely tells me it’s a lamb foot, a real lamb foot.
Ya, I know it says "Real Lamb Foot", but it still looks more like a Wharncliffe to me... Maybe the infamous Lambcliffe.
Maybe it's the camera angle or the nick placement that's throwing me off, but it doesn't seem to taper... but it's probably just me.

I agree with you John, I mean Augie's knife is a unique one but what I've been shown is a REAL Lambfoot, this one seems askew of. My opinion is neither here nor there but that's what I think. My Nanc would tell my opinion matters not 😁

Picked up this unusual barlow, lambs foot blade, synthetic stag, made by Whitby which I think is an English company but the knife may have been made in Italy from what I can find.

That's certainly an unusual knife. I know the company well, and have had dealings with them in the past. They're a British retailer, but often get knives made, with their own name overseas, strangely these knives are often copies of more expensive knives that they sell, from established cutlers. My guess is that knife was made up by Carl Kammerling, probably in Italy. I've seen that bolster, and that blade on other knives bearing their 'CK' mark.

We had a similar Fog this A,M, but it burned off before I could snap a pic!!
I'm glad we can see as far as the knife!! 🤣

Quite a collection you have built, Jack!!
Thanks to you Charlie, half of those knives were gifts from you :)
