What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Nice step-Bolster KeenKutter!! And that TC looks like the first run!!! PPP?
PPP indeed !!! I obtained it some years ago from a nice man that uses the handle waynorth. Many thanks waynorth !
( I have frequently wondered what the meaning of waynorth might be, way north of where ? 🤔 :)) way north of Primble, that's a fact !😂

Mortonm - I don't have a date for it, however it does have all hammered pins, which suggests to me that it is likely pre-WWII. :)

Rob, pretty sure the KeenKutter is pre WW1, do you have a shot of the tang stamp? Dan would know for sure as he is the KK expert.

Ha - for once my conclusion was right ! 😲☺️

Here is one more of my old Barlows that I like a lot:

Ulster bone handle script bolster barlows are hard to find in good condition, that one looks very nice.

Picture of mine and I can never resist showing a set of Ulster salesman sample barlows that I obtained from Charlie, they are earlier than the script bolster knives.

I was answering by memory Augie and sometimes that isn't as good as it used to be. 🥴:) I think it is at least pre 1940 after looking further. If we can pin it down, I will put it in my knife records. I looked and did not have a year range for it in that space. Both blades marked the same:
