I was answering by memory Augie and sometimes that isn't as good as it used to be.I think it is at least pre 1940 after looking further. If we can pin it down, I will put it in my knife records. I looked and did not have a year range for it in that space. Both blades marked the same:

1899 catalog shows a similar model on the bottom

I think you are closer to that 1899 date than the 1940 based on the stepped bolsters and pick bone, great and rare barlow.
