What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I told several people, so it was inevitable - don't worry anyone.:)

It was December 7th, 2012 that the first TC Barlows were shipped, according to Christine's records over at GEC. So that date, in this year, is the second anniversary of these knives I love.:o
I thought I'd invite you all to celebrate, with an Anniversary Edition.
It will have a long-pull clip blade, single blades only, with a Deep red Soup-bone handle.
You will also see special etches, labels and buttons! I hope you like them!!!;)

Please don't email me!!! The usual trusty dealers will have them, in about 4 weeks time give or take! Definitely this thread will have the news, so check in once in a while to see what is up.

That's a bit of a relief. I'll keep my big mouth shut in the future, should I ever stumble onto some inside info again (not likely). Last thing I'd ever want is to be breaking your news for you Charlie. 🙊

The knives sound like they'll be fantastic. I almost picked up a rosewood single blade Charlow today but now I'm glad I passed, since finances dictate my collection remain small for the time being.

Christmas is coming a little early this year.

Sounds fantastic Waynorth!!! :eek::eek::thumbup::)

I have a feeling these will go quicker than usual, especially with the excellently designed etch!!!

There won't be nearly enough. If you're real quiet, you can hear reservation emails going out across the land.

Ha Ha! It's probably true!
I am only making one handle so they go further, I hope!! It would be great if everyone who wants one gets one!

If you look at the old Case barlows with red marrow bone that will give you a good idea. Really good looking stuff.
Not my pic, but something like this? Because that is sweet!

That Case is what I am hoping for. Something like it!

The Red dye that Case used in the 50s and 60s (I have heard) is no longer legal to use, so I am hoping GEC can come close, or equally as nice!

Sounds like a great anniversary TC Charlie. Red soup bone should be really nice. Thank you for keeping these coming. I hope to get one. :)

That would be great! I am still trying to scrounge up my first charlow and this one sounds like a good one! Thanks Charlie!

Huh??? What do you know that I don't know???

JK! JK!! - - - -Barry is doing the etch. He's sent me some nice roughs. . . . .

Might not be very traditional, then again it doesn't really get more traditional, but how about ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ on a couple...

I'm half Greek and love me some Herodotus.
