What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Yep. I've decided to try some good old subliminal messaging. I should make a gif out of it and splice in some hypnotoad. :)

Hey man, is the single clip second from the left mislabeled? Isn't the antique Amber from 2013 kind of a light brown like the one in my avatar?

Don't know for sure as I got that one third hand. The two on the far left are similar but slightly different.

Am a lefty myself, could explain why I prefer the TC single clip, it's easily pinchable. Satisfying walk and talk. Strops to a very nice edge.

Here is my favorite old barlow, a 30's Remington. I just love everything about this knife. Beautiful snap, clean action, integral bolsters, and solid as a tank.

have a great weekend everyone:thumbup:

Lovely Barlows Evan and Paul, and a fine selection of tweed there Evan! :)

If it were me, that's exactly what I would do. Blackwood as a dress knife and that great sawcut for user.

Man it is a perfect fall day in Central Park. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1416080958.860575.jpg

This is my favorite whittlin spot in the city, though I have a few others. For how crowded the park gets below 93rd street you'd be shocked at how few people come through the North Woods. Nothing more therapeutic than sitting next to a creek, with a great pocket knife, and turning sticks into sharper, slightly smaller sticks. 😁

I was lucky enough recently to have added a couple of sheepsfoot TC's to keep my sawcut sheepsfoot and scout eo company. Big thanks to Dan (Parke1) for passing on the beautiful Ivory bone one to me. Thanks Dan!!

Man....if I could only score one of those. Thanks for the pictures!

Very fine old Remington Barlow Evan! I have not seen many in that condition.

Thanks Mort! I try not to do too much to my old knives, as I like to preserve their individual history reflected through their wear and use, so this is basically exactly how I got it!
