What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

My single spey in African Blackwood was on duty yesterday and again today. It's one of my all-time favorites. In about two weeks I'll be celebrating a one year anniversary with this Barlow.

It is nice to see someone enjoying a Spey blade, arizona! Those blades get a bad rap!

We should see the anniversary Barlow in this thread soon; I hope. They were shipped Wednesday, to dealers anyway. Hope Barry isn't too busy deer hunting!
I am always the last to CF and CE them because of my "northern" location. . . .sniff. . .

Shared pain, that. ;)

Thanks to EVERYONE for showing me your Barlows, while I sit here grumbling and cursing because I cannot reach into the computer!!
I'll do it a little differently next time!!
There will be a next time!!

BTW, I just got my current Knifeworld Magazine, and everyone is jumping on the Barlow Bandwagon!! Bear, BlueGrass and CSC have all come out with, or "jumped up" their Barlows in the last year or so. I think in November, TC Sawyer Barlows will be 2 years old.

A friendly reminder (from last time) - you seemed to forget.:D

I have put "Sapphire" on watch again.

My beautiful third cut stag Beerlow is gone. I need more feed in my bucket !!! :grumpy::D

At least "Sapphire" commiserates!

I suspect the Barlow River is about to flow!!

This is too much - these beautiful red soup bone barlows are a wonderful celebration of the last couple of years work by Charlie, they aren't even finished yet and already I'm reading about people wanting to put cap lifters on them. Jack, avert your eyes!

Hard to think of anything more disrespectful :thumbdn:

Ouch, as I am recently guilty of this with a single Spey "Day's Work" but believe me Jack there was NEVER any disrespect intended. I would've hoped my character could have spoken for itself, I guess not:) For those offended I am guilty as charged.

I believe they are referring to my post, correct me if I am wrong.

Paul, you should feel terrible, drop that yellow bone spey barlow in the mail to me ASAP so you can clear your conscious!

Cant wait to see these in person, im hoping I get one of the extra soupy bones. I need to crack down and get a Case marrow bone barlow to match.

It does brother, by leaps and bounds :)

lol..... Paul, send me your Red Bone Brother, and i will forgive you anyways my friend.

Duncan, just the red bone? You know they are all slated to go to you when I go to the big Cutlery factory in the sky:D

Thank you Jon, I appreciate that:thumbup:

Everyone, please know Jack is my dear friend and I do not take ANY offense from his comment...in fact I appreciate it. I have sent my friend a pm and like my blood brothers we fought like fierce enemies at times but at the end of the day I'd be the first to take a bullet for them, as I would for Jack and many others on this forum.

Please, let this be the end of it here and not tarnish this hallowed thread. This to me is the best thread of all:thumbup:

The yellow bone, specifically the "days work" yellow bone was one of my top 2 charlow grails (behind the soup bone)

Thanks to two outstanding forum members I was able to acquire both :)

I was able to acquire a single spey and a single clip with the yellow bone but I don't have the two bladed version that has both blades. :)
