What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Charlie, those look fantastic. This has been a fun time for the knife collectors. I am referring to everyone else because I am not a collector! I am not a collector! I am not a collector! If I keep repeating it then it must be true. ;)

Charlie....those knives are beautiful. The sheepsfoot is outstanding my man. The grain is great on it. That bottom soupbone is sweet. Congratulations my friend.

Great photos, Phil! Is that spearpoint one of the originals from 2012?

Evan, your photos made me say, "Wow!"

Yes indeed, Scott! It is one of the first released. I thought it would be appropriate to include with the anniversary edition!

These red soup bones look so good! Might be th best TC Barlow yet. Keep the pics coming, I love seeing the variety of them...living vicariously through this thread ;)

my one and only barlow, and I love this little one!

Yes, YES. A WLST®, and one of the finest. :)

Ooohh, scratted bone sounds very neat!

"Scratted" to me sounds like the woods after animals have been through (ahem), but I do like the look of Charlie's early examples, and the notion of a new(er) run of the same is of course appealing.

When I look at this image?

I see the stamped blades. ;)

How wonderful, Charlie!

The brazilian rosewood is a stunning surprise, and an especially happy revelation to all who love acoustic guitars.

Bravo, to you and to GEC, again!

-- The Ricotta button is kinda cheesy, albeit on the perfect blue.

Charlie your little herd is quite nice. The rosewood turned out beautiful.
I've has my fair share of ricotta in my lifetime. :)

Evan, Phil and Dan
You guys all received great looking knives. Each one uniquely different.

Here is my anniversary TC and companion. Thanks Charlie and happy 2nd anniversary TC Barlow wishes!
Thanks everyone for the great pictures keep them coming.

It is an education talking to a guy who has a lifetime of experience in traditional knives. Bill knew a lot of people, now past, who spent their lives doing it too! I hope there is a book in his future!!

The shipment is here! I get to keep a few!!

(I can envision Primble wishing he could get his hot little camera on these knives! Just Charlie's prosaic scans for now . . . . . .)

At this point, I am in your old water logged boat, waiting for mine to arrive, and hoping mine is as pretty as all of the others. I have not seen an ugly one yet. That old soup of yours on the bottom looks like a mouse chewed it all up and made it an old piece of swiss cheese.:eek::D The rosewood above it is just wonderful.:eek::thumbup::thumbup::)

If you are nice, I might trade you mine for that old piece of cheese.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I hope you find more of the Rosewood in the future and put it on a long pull blade. I am impressed with everyone's soup so far and remain hopeful.:)

I think I might be able to make some nice wallpapers with those four knives, if I put my mind to it. I would be careful with them.:D:D:D

I really hope I can score one of those sheepsfoot soon. It's by far my favorite.

Great pictures of the Anniversary Charlows, the Charlows are looking just as fine as they did two years ago.:thumbup: Sad I was out of the loop on this round and missed the small window that they were available. :(
