What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

That must have been something Charlie when they opened the knife and seen there father's name on the blade. :cool: I got goose-bumps thinking about it! :eek::D

It was a complete surprise to both of them. On my side of the family we are nosy so have to "pretend" to be surprised (ah! How did you know my size?? and the book I wanted?), but on Joanne's side, delightful surprises are everything! Stew died in '99 so it's been a while. Nice memories of their Dad!

Today (for most of the past week in fact)... :thumbup:

Good Stuff Charlie. Thank you for sharing it with us.

That's great, Charlie! She must've been so happy and thrilled to have something of her dad's even though it was only made in his honor, still a fitting tribute.

+1 :thumbup:

Charlie, I really appreciate your stories. Your knives mean a lot to me, but the stories you share make 'em special.

Thanks! :)

Did you find that laying in a children's park in Kansas? I lost it there about 6 months ago. :D :( Fantastic knife, the twin of your knife was my first TC and has been sorely missed.

Cool pic and it looks like you've really enjoyed carrying and using it.

Finally...

It took a long time, and I paid... well, more than enough for it, but I found it. Finally. :)

Today is a good day.

Congrats! I have noticed your note about the amber sawcut in your signature more than once.

Congratulations, Dan!! That's a splendid knife! :thumbup::thumbup:
I don't have any Charlows, but that color saw cut bone would be at the very top of MY list (YMMV of course).
They say the hunt is the best part, so you've gotta feel good that you could hunt for so long, right? :D
