What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Notice how the jigging goes right to the bolsters!:)
Hardly any "shaved" areas. I am stoked!! Those are great looking knives!!
Bill has been working on his jigging techniques, and it has been paying off big time!!
I sometimes wonder how much better GEC can make these knives, and then they go and knock my socks off!!

I am humbled, to say the least!!

I know, Charlie! I'm super stoked, Bill is really going the extra mile on these!👍👌👏 That is the best looking jiggin I've ever seen on a new knife!

Just like Lee Corso on Saturday College Football, NOT so fast my friend!
As you may remember Charlie had to wait and pick up his share of the "Tom The Seconds" at the GEC annual rendezvous. About a month after all his distributors had already received theirs! :grumpy: After that rendezvous, when I received my Tom's from Charlie he surprised me with a couple of the "Specials". 2 knives that I did not expect to receive because I was not able to go. You know, only for folks who attend the rendezvous.
Just like Dan and his Soup bone Charlow, I was completely bowled over. You could have knocked me down with a feather!  With all the other excitement going on, meeting new and old friends, setting up his table, picnicking, games of skill, and I'm sure conspiring with Bill :D Charlie thought about me and set aside an unserialized Oil Sucker Rod Stew's Blade and a Dead Skunk!!:cool::cool: Like I've said before, there's not many of us here that have not been humbled by Charlie's generosity! And that includes me, more than once!!
So here are the 2 Rendezvous specials

The Oil Sucker Rod Wood, 1 of only 3 not serialized...

You will note there is no blade etch like the Rendezvous Specials.

And the Dead Skunk Acrylic, 1 of only 7, mark...

This example has the perfect blend of colors to my eye. I just LOVE it!!:D

pile...

The Dead Skunk front label (there is no back label)...

Thank You Charlie, it doesn't seem like it's enough but I don't know what else to say but Thank You!

Good Nite All.

Dave

Did someone say Acrylic??;)
What's this thread doing on page 2 anyway?

While not a huge #15 barlow fan myself, I have to admit the jigging on these to be superb! I revel in the excitement a new run generates, good times! Enjoy my friends, I share your enthusiasm

^^
That unserialised Sucker Wood is a Dandy for sure Dave , and Oh boy....do I know what you mean by Charlie having been so kind to so many of us!

You ain't wrong, Sean!!

There have been a couple of holdups, so the knives won't be shipped to the dealers until the 11th of March.:grumpy:
Hey that's not too far away!

Meanwhile, besides GEC's pics, here's a little taste of what you will see when you get them! A whimsical answer to whimsical events! :D

Wonderful Charlie! Great story telling wrapped around a legendary Barlow folder,
Doesn't get much better than that. We await the curtains up release with great anticipation.

Thanks for all your work on these
